    • Star Wars and Marvel are teaming up for a five-part limited comic book series called Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles, featuring characters from both universes.
    • The series will bring together beloved Star Wars characters like Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia with Marvel superheroes like Captain America and Spider-Man in a crossover event set to launch in January 2027.
    • Written by Kevin Smith and illustrated by David Marquez, the collaboration marks the 50th anniversary of Star Wars and promises to fulfill fans’ dreams of seeing these iconic characters come together in one epic storyline.

The ultimate crossover has just been unveiled!

Star Wars and Marvel have officially collided in a forthcoming, five-part limited comic book series called Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles.

According to <a href="https://comicvibe.com/galaxy-entertainment-group-q2-interim-results-2026/” title=”Galaxy Entertainment Group Q2 & Interim Results 2026″>Entertainment Weekly, which reported the crossover first, the series will feature beloved Star Wars characters like Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Chewbacca and Han Solo, as they join the “Earth-616” timeline where Marvel’s Captain America, Black Widow, Spider-Man and the Hulk exist. This also means Darth Vader and Doctor Doom, among other baddies, will also exist together. Hope Assembles puts Marvel’s characters in the midst of the events of A New Hope“after a reality-shattering spell,” a logline reads.

“Marvel and Star Wars’ histories have been intertwined for 50 years and continue to set the standard for storytelling across the world… and across the media landscape,” says Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief Stephen Wacker. “Lifelong lovers of both Star Wars and Marvel have a lot to look forward to as we finally bring the characters together in ways fans have been dreaming about for decades!”

The story is written by actor and director Kevin Smith, who wrote for Daredevil, Batman, and Green Arrow, while David Marquez of Uncanny X-Men and Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man is the illustrator.

“Back in the early 80’s, I had a subscription to Marvel’s Star Wars comics,” Smith says. “And as fun as it was to follow the continuing adventures of Luke, Leia, and Han, I always wished that Spider-Man or Doctor Doom could cross over into their cinematic saga. So when the opportunity arose to actually tell that story, nobody had to Force my hand! I’m ecstatic to be writing Hope Assembles for the 50th anniversary of Star Wars! Many thanks to Marvel Comics and Lucasfilm for trusting me to fly the Falcon and the Quinjet!”

The series will launch in January 2027, with each subsequent installment dropping every month, just in time for the 50th anniversary of Star Wars, so you could say in this case, there’s no such thing as luck.
