Netflix has greenlit a new horror series called something very bad is going to happenfrom executive producers and stranger things Creators The Duffer Brothers and Hilary Leavitt have an overall deal with Netflix through Upside Down Pictures.
The creator of the series is Haley Z. Boston (beach log kill), she will serve as executive producer and showrunner on her own passion project series at the age of 29.
Andrea Sperling (transparent apocalyptic murderShe has also been named an executive producer through an overall deal with Netflix.
The official diary of the series is “something very bad is going to happen is a horror drama set at a wedding, telling the story of a bride and groom in the week leading up to their ill-fated wedding.
The Duffer brothers said of the project:
“When we first read Haley’s script, we were blown away. She’s an important newcomer with a unique voice—her writing is twisted, scary, funny, and… very Haley. We’re lucky to have Producing her first show, we can’t wait to share her vision with the rest of the world.
Boston is no stranger to Netflix, having written about shows on the streamer before Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities and New cherry flavor.
Peter Friedlander, vice president of scripted series (U.S. and Canada) at Netflix, also commented on the project, saying: “We are thrilled to be working with our dream partners Matt, Ross and Hilary again. Bring this unexpected and chilling story to life.
The Duffer Brothers are currently working on the final season of the hit Netflix series stranger thingsexpected to launch next year.
