Yuto Suzuki’s action-comedy manga Sakamoto Days has surpassed 18M copies in circulation worldwide, marking a new milestone for the series. The achievement was announced on Aug 4, 2026, through the franchise’s official X, coinciding with the manga’s Vol. 28 release.

The circulation figure covers all previously published volumes of Sakamoto Days, currently in print. It began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in November 2020, following its launch as a one-shot in Shueisha’s Jump Giga magazine in December 2019.

Sakamoto Daysmanga has posted steady growth since it crossed 500K copies within a year, in December 2021. The manga reached 15M in circulation by August 2025, following its anime adaptation in Winter 2025.

The manga has already entered its final story arc in August 2025, with ShueishaIssue 34 confirming that it is heading toward its conclusion in July 2026. Anime Push Fuels Sales Ahead ofSakamoto DaysSeason 2

The circulation surge tracks closely with the Sakamoto Days manga’s anime rollout. In 2025, the anime’s first season streamed through the year in two parts. The latest tally marks roughly a 3-million-copy jump in that year.

Netflix, the streaming platform distributing Sakamoto Days anime, reported it to have the biggest premiere since the start of the platform’s weekly viewership reporting. xIt generated 8.6M views in its debut, reaching rank 2 in Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English TV shows as well.

The TV anime is set to return with a second season in January 2027
, expanding the conflict surrounding the mysterious assassin known as X (Slur). It adapts the JCC infiltration storyline, where Taro Sakamoto and Shin enter the association.

With 18M copies now in circulation and another anime season on the horizon, Sakamoto Daysenters the second half of 2026 with sustained commercial momentum. Whether the upcoming season 2 delivers another boost to readership remains to be seen.
