LaMelo Ball’s penthouse looks like Dave & Buster’s had a baby with Hot Topic inside Roblox
This apartment is a fever dream.
LaMelo Ball is packing up and moving out of Charlotte to start his new life in Minnesota, and that’s led to a mover posting video from the inside of Ball’s multi-million dollar penthouse in uptown. Originally owned by Michael Jordan, then Cam Newton, Ball was the third icon to hold the property — and he turned the place into a kid’s design from Roblox.
At this point there’s nothing more to say except for: Behold.
There is so much to unpack in this 30 second video, or pack — as the case may be. First off there’s the overall aesthetic which can best be described as “Alien Enthusiast owns laser tag center.” The entire place is plastered in aliens, UFOs, spaceships, galaxy-themed kitchen counters … the list goes on. Kudos to Melo for having a gender neutral bathroom sign that includes an extra terrestrial and bigfoot, who are also allowed to pee in Melo’s house.
Then we move through and see the emergency $10K he has chilling on his wall as a joke. I appreciate that. There’s a pop a shot setup, video games, his shoes, all things I’d more or less expect from a 24-year-old multi-millionaire. The part that really took my breath away was the giant Rick and Morty mural of LaMelo Ball, which not only highlights his taste in adult cartoons, but further embraces the alien aesthetic.
I asked my nine-year-old daughter what she thought about this apartment, fully expecting her to say that it’s awesome. Instead she said “it’s a bit much,” a bit much from a nine-year-old. Obviously it’s good enough for LaMelo Ball, and in the end I guess that’s all that really matters.
