High-quality videos from VTubers (Virtual YouTubers) and virtual creators are uploaded every day. From among them, I’ll introduce some videos that I personally think you should definitely watch. In particular, I’ll delve deeper into unique works, works with high technical skill and planning ability, and works that are timely, capturing the fun, effort, and talent of the creators!

Let’s reply to the comments on our first video, posted 8 years ago, *now*!

Tsukino Mito began her activities in February 2018. This time, she uploaded a video in which she rewatches her first uploaded video and replies to viewer comments from 8 years ago with her current level of enthusiasm. The video from 8 years ago can be found here.

In early 2018, before the term VTuber even existed and virtual YouTubers were widely recognized, an app called “Nijisanji” was being developed with the promise that anyone could easily become a virtual YouTuber using the iPhone X’s Animoji function. I can’t help but wonder what would have happened if “Nijisanji” had become a popular app.

You can really feel the enthusiasm of the people who commented in early 2018. Especially in the beginning, there were a lot of warm comments, and you can sense the passion of the supporters.

You can see in the comments section that people who actually commented eight years ago are now reacting to Mito Tsukino’s replies. Mito Tsukino said that she realized that it’s “obviously not something to take for granted” that there are people who comment when she uploads a video, but this video also made us realize that it’s not something to take for granted that listeners can continue to support her for eight years.

How can we make cosmic rays famous? We had a serious discussion with professionals from various fields [Madoka Hoshimi / #Shinshu University Cosmic Ray / #Shinshu University]

VTuber planetary scientist Hoshimi Madoka participated in the “Cosmic Ray Common Term Meeting,” hosted by the “Shinshu University Cosmic Ray” group, and uploaded a video of her appearing in a discussion at the event. Madoka Hoshimi participated from inside a display screen.

The first half is an easy-to-understand explanation of Cosmic Ray, with Madoka Hoshimi and Uchuu Yabai ch listening to experts. Just listening to this will pique your interest in Cosmic Ray.

The second half of the discussion revolves around how to increase awareness of Cosmic Ray. What’s interesting here is that Hoshimi Madoka, a VTuber, talks about how she, as a virtual influencer, can approach the fascinating aspects of space and the spread of Cosmic Ray.

Hoshimi Madoka analyzes her channel’s audience and says there’s a demand for content where viewers enjoy watching her talk about things she likes. At the same time, she also speaks from the perspective of someone who has worked virtually, emphasizing that there are things that can be conveyed more effectively and capture people’s interest precisely because she presents herself in a real-life way.

This content not only teaches you about the scientific aspects of Cosmic Ray, but also gives you a chance to think about the influence of both the virtual and real worlds in the field of science, so be sure to check it out.

Is selling VRChat avatars profitable? Here’s what happened when I actually tried selling them…

Satellite Light created an original avatar and sold it on Vket. The avatar she created is called “Umyushin,” and it’s very cute. It’s a multi-functional avatar that can change colors, switch to spaceship mode to fly, and emit particles. I wonder how many she sold…?

What’s interesting is Satellite Light’s reaction when he saw Umiyushin modified by his friend. Seeing Umiyushin in a form he didn’t recognize, he frankly states, “I felt like Umiyushin was no longer just mine, and I felt a little lonely, or rather, sad, a complicated feeling.” This is a feeling that can only be felt by someone who has created a commercial avatar and given it to someone else. We don’t know how other avatar creators feel, but I think it’s worthwhile for buyers who modify avatars to be aware of his sense of “sadness.”

Avatar modification is generally permitted as long as it adheres to the terms of service. However, each creator has a different stance, so it’s unlikely that everyone will have the same opinion. With that in mind, his comments may offer a glimpse into the feelings of avatar creators who have poured their hearts into their creations, sending off works that could be considered their children.

My TV is broken!! Let’s repair it with items from a 100-yen store!!

Aoi.ch, featuring Aoi Fuji and Kikunojo, has become something of an engineering-focused VTuber, known for their uncompromising approach to experimental projects. In this video, they attempt to repair a broken LCD TV brought in by Fuji Aoi using only items from a 100-yen store.

This channel usually features content that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, but this time it’s packed with content that we especially want children to see. The first half of the video explains the basics of how television works. Kikunojo explains how an image is displayed on an LCD screen in a way that anyone can understand. Just watching this part will greatly deepen your understanding of television, which is one of the most common household appliances.

In the second half, based on the reason why the TV turns on, we’ll try to figure out what’s broken and whether it’s repairable. With the tenacity that Aoi.ch has always had—the belief that you can fix anything if you understand the logic—she’ll attempt to repair it using only items from a 100-yen store.

Aoi.ch conveys the fun of “knowing” the structure of everyday objects and shows us that “if you can do it, you can make it.” At the same time, the question discussed this time, “Can an actress’s makeup be changed by signal conversion?” is one of the important ideas for formulating hypotheses in scientific experiments. It is because Kikunojo, who has knowledge and technical skills, and Aoi Fuji, who has a rich imagination, have teamed up that the videos on this channel are scientific, interesting, and exciting.

Summer-colored life, the moment of birth #Ichijo Ririka’s Limitless Meals

The “Ichijo Ririka’s Extreme Cooking” video series, which features risky and haphazard cooking methods that are sure to make you nervous, has uploaded an episode featuring Matsuri Natsuiro as a guest.

She made chilled ramen and pancakes. Ichijo Ririka’s cooking is spontaneous and impulsive, but regardless of whether it looks good or not, it somehow ends up looking nice and somehow delicious, which is不思議 (mysterious).

Even if she makes a few mistakes, Ichijo Ririka’s reaction to being completely affirmed by Natsuiro Matsuri’s excellent praising skills is heartwarming to watch.

This series is characterized by its deliberate editing, which demonstrates a deep understanding of its purpose. It skillfully balances playful teasing of overly simplistic cooking methods with the enjoyable feeling of cooking itself, resulting in a laughter that leaves viewers feeling happy and satisfied.

    【Misheard Lyrics】Guess the original Japanese phrase played for English-language Siri!! 【Hololive/Natsuiro Matsuri】

The project that Natsuiro Matsuri organized was something unique to Hololive, a truly worldwide group. Participants had the English version of Siri listen to Japanese and write down the English that came up. Hakos Baelz, an Australian who is fluent in Japanese, then read it aloud, and the quiz was to guess what the original Japanese was by ear.

The five participants are Sakura Miko, Ichijo Ririka, Hakos Baelz, Vestia Zeta, and Anya Melfissa. This group brings together fluent Japanese speakers not only from Hololive JP, but also from EN and ID.

The more English you know, the more likely you are to get confused by the content, but that doesn’t mean that people who only speak Japanese have an advantage; the questions are cleverly designed.

Among them, Sakura Miko, in particular, gave a series of unusual answers. She misheard “OK now I can die” as “That’s a big deal,” which made the viewers laugh. This is proof of how free and imaginative she is.

This was a unique project where individual creativity really shone through in the answers, and it made me really hope for a second installment.

【Enogu x Marinasu】Two virtual idol groups active since the dawn of the virtual idol era engage in a thorough discussion! The future of virtual idols and “AceeeZ” #Enogu #Marinasu #AceeeZ

While there are many virtual idols currently active, two groups that have been active since the early days—Tamaki Shirafuji and Nao Hinata from Enogu, and Rin Tomai and Subaru Suzunari from Marinasu—gathered for a roundtable discussion. Enogu is a project that started in August 2017 as “Antama.” Marinasu started in August 2018 with Mahiro Kanade, who graduated from the group. Both are units that have been active since the very beginning of the virtual idol world, experiencing not only smooth sailing but also member changes and other challenges, yet continuing to work hard and move forward with all their might.

“What has changed between your debut and 2026?” “What skills are necessary for virtual idols to survive in the new era?” These are just some of the candid topics that come up. The four veterans candidly share their struggles with how to stand out among the many virtual idols, and the significant changes they’ve experienced while overcoming the challenges of the pandemic.

Currently, Enogu and Marinasu belong to “AceeeZ,” a VTuber production company produced by VEXZ Co., Ltd. Enogu transferred from “Enogu LLC” in May of this year, retaining the “production rights” of themselves.

The four members of “AceeeZ” are seriously discussing how to further develop the group. As relatively senior members among the other talents in the agency, they hold an important position. They are also seriously discussing how they will set an example so that others will think, “I want to be like them.”

Furthermore, their positive outlook on the future is truly exciting to watch. This roundtable discussion, featuring Enogu and Marinasu, who have survived the fierce competition among virtual idols, leaves us with high expectations for their future success.

【Battle】The loser of the majority prediction quiz has to drink!【#himatsuku

Tsukushi Kasukabe and Himari Meimei hosted a viewer-participation quiz. They prepared a multiple-choice question with two options, such as “If you’re going to play in the summer, would you choose the beach or the pool?”, and each presented their answer in a debate format. Viewers who tuned in listened to the presentations and voted, and the person with the minority opinion had to drink alcohol.

This is an entertaining live stream where you can watch shot glasses being piled up in front of the two of them. Questions that don’t have absolute answers are presented in just the right amount of difficulty, such as “Would you rather date someone who is kind to everyone or someone who is kind only to you?” and “Is it better to own a house or rent after getting married?”, so you probably won’t be able to come to a conclusion about which is better. Along the way, there are serious debates on some questions where neither side gives an inch.

The comment-based voting system, which deliberately divides participants into majority and minority groups, seems quite enjoyable, especially considering the meta-level question of “which side do you want to see drink?” The debate itself was genuinely persuasive and interesting from both sides, so I would love to see them battle it out again with different questions.

The two share the commonality of providing voices for the free text-to-speech software “VOICEVOX.” They are publicly available as Himari Meimei and Tsumugi Kasukabe (voiced by Tsukushi Kasukabe), so if you’re interested, please check them out.

【Who gave this answer?】Uncover the members’ thoughts! 【#ParePro】

Kaname Tokiwa of Palette Project (hereinafter referred to as PalePro) conducted a quiz called “Whose Answer Is This?”. She selected answers from questions submitted in advance to the participants Nanami Rona, Akatsuki Clara, Enami Kyoka, Kanaru Hanon, and Natsunagi Mahalo, and only displayed the answers. The challenge was to guess whose answer it was.

As a group, knowing each other well strengthens the bond between idols. There’s a certain aspect to being a teammate that comes from being able to read each other’s thoughts…but is that really the case? It seems that many members had forgotten their own answers.

The way they exchange witty and humorous answers to each other’s questions clearly shows how close the members are in real life, making for a really enjoyable stream.

While it’s certainly more enjoyable for those familiar with the members of Palepro, each member’s answers to the questions are unique and quirky, so even complete strangers should be able to get a sense of their personalities by watching this. Furthermore, it offers a glimpse into the harmonious relationships among the members, making it a recommended introduction to Palepro.

The music video for PalePro’s 14th single, “Gimme Rabi,” has also been released. The song is packed with both jazzy coolness and idol-like cuteness, and the harmonies of the seven members’ voices intertwine in an alluring way. Set to a big band-style rhythm, each member has an impactful moment to showcase their singing style, resulting in a song full of thrilling parts.

This song will energize you and blow away the summer heat and all your everyday frustrations. Maizuru Yokato, celebrating their 8th anniversary, has released a new original music video for their song “Mighty Heart.” The lyrics and music were

The powerful sound of the word “sekarashika!” (meaning “so annoying!”) is particularly memorable. If this were sung at a live performance, it would surely create a huge excitement with call and response.

The lyrics are rhythmically woven with various Fukuoka dialect phrases such as “Nanbashiyotto,” “Chachakuchara,” and “Yokaroumon,” which, combined with the exhilarating melody, create a powerful and energetic feel. The rhyming, such as “Wakattoken wakattoken I don’t care!”, is also pleasing to the ear and really gets the listener going. The way they rhyme with “Manhattan,” a famous Fukuoka confection, is also technically impressive.

This song, featuring the energetic vocals of Yokato Maizuru, is incredibly refreshing, and her usual boundless energy permeates every track. The inclusion of her signature “Aha!” laugh at the end is a major plus. The song conveys a strong, resilient spirit that seems to blow away the stresses of modern society, leaving the listener feeling positive.

The triple meter rhythm is light yet deeply impactful, reaching out to the listener’s heart. The music video for “Shuchakueki,” a new original song by virtual singer-songwriter Yono, has been released. Yono herself wrote the lyrics, composed the music, and arranged it.

The first half of the song is sung in a gentle, conversational voice that even evokes a sense of happiness, but in the part that goes, “The gears are misaligned, I cling to the heart that has been stabbed, and I create your world with each stain,” it suddenly transforms into a heavy, passionate style of singing. The feeling of misunderstandings and everything falling apart is conveyed so effectively that it sends shivers down your spine.

What exactly happened is left to each individual’s imagination, but there’s no doubt that it’s permeated with an unsettling atmosphere. After listening to it all the way through once, even the sweet opening line, “I’ll walk to the final station of my life with you♬”, makes you feel the hidden obsession beneath the surface, and it makes your heart ache.

Her passionate, almost biting vocal delivery makes you feel the emotions quietly building up. At first, her spinning around looks happy, but the moment you sense the tenacity in her powerful voice, you can’t help but wonder what she’s thinking as she dances with those vacant eyes. This is a work that will leave you in awe of her skill in conveying vivid emotions through vocal expression.
