Akane-banashi is a Japanese comedy anime series produced by Zexcs and directed by Ayumu Watanabe. The anime is an adaptation of the manga of the same name by author Yuki Suenaga. The manga has been ongoing in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since February 14, 2022, and as of August 2026, there are now 23 volumes.

When is Akane-Banashi season 2 coming to Netflix?
Akane-Banashi has been confirmed to return for a second season in January 2027, but its Netflix release date has yet to be confirmed. However, based on the first season’s release schedule, we can speculate when the second season will be released on Netflix.
Season 1 began its Japanese broadcast on April 4 but premiered over a month later on Netflix with the English dub on May 17, 2026. We’d expect the second season to land on Netflix in either February 2027 orMarch 2027.
