It’s hard to believe, but Stranger Things debuted back in 2016.
At the time, Netflix’s bizarre supernatural series faced an uncertain future.
It doesn’t have any big-name stars (with the possible exception of Matthew Modine’s small role), and its “Stand By Me”-meets-“X-Files” premise may leave viewers scratching their heads.
Ten years later, Stranger Things is arguably Netflix’s biggest success story.
Each new season ranks among the streamer’s most-watched shows of the year, and few other Netflix originals have had a comparable cultural impact.
So it’s understandable that the streaming brass are being accommodating when it comes to ST’s budget needs and production schedules.
