The Marina del Rey Summer Symphony is paying powerful homage to the soundtracks that heighten the flavor and fun of video games at a free concert on the first evening of August.
No controller is needed to attend; rather, leap, somersault, fly, and ride your trusty familiar, be it an ensorcelled bear or werewolf, in the direction of Burton Chace Park in Marina del Rey.
“Power Up! Games in Concert” will pay tribute to the soundtracks of some iconic games during the 90-minute show; listen for World of Warcraft, Sword of the Sea, and Medal of Honor to receive their symphonic due.
“Whether you’re a lifelong gamer or simply love great music, this thrilling concert promises an evening of adventure, heroism, and unforgettable melodies,” is the stirring word on the event’s site.

Keep in mind that this is an outdoor park venue, and finding a place to plunk down will be very much a “first come, first served” sort of thing.
