Bhai Tera Star Hai movie review: Raghav Juyal-starrer is dull and done

Bhai Tera Star Hai movie review: It’s done, bro!

    30 July,2026 09:16 PM IST |  Mumbai  |  Mayank Shekhar

The only star of this film is the one who can sit through it

Your browser doesn’t support HTML5 audio

    Director: Vivek B Agrawal

    Actor: Raghav Juyal, Niharika NM

    Rating: 1 star

Let alone motivations of characters, the real problem with a movie is when you can’t tell the motive behind the movie itself. This one, Bhai Tera Star Hai, starts off with aerial shots of central London’s skyline.

Okay, there’s UK’s rebate policy for film productions the filmmakers must have benefitted from. Great!

You then follow the movie’s hero, the star from the title, young Raghav Juyal (Kill, Yudhra), in netted banian, randomly dancing to a track, a la Hrithik Roshan, emerging from the poster.

Everybody’s a star in their loving family’s eyes. I’m sure his will love this too. It’s some vanity project, after all (I think to myself).

But he can’t be the only one in a pic this long. Hence, a series of characters, hovering between multiple bars, in London. Wherein, the hero owes a pub-owner some cash that he must repay by night.

Sanjay Kapoor plays that barman. In his youth, Sanjay, literally, missed out on be<a href="https://comicvibe.com/pavlov-shack-is-coming-to-steam-frame-standalone/” title=”Pavlov Shack Is Coming To Steam Frame Standalone”>coming a Bollywood star. He’s so good. I feel for him.

There’s another bloke (Vivaan Bhatena) taking chakkars of bars, trying to get money owed to him by buddies and bartenders.

Given the setting, the censors are clear, there will be a huge warning sign, against smoking and drinking, permanently on the screen. I’ve read it a few times, already.

If I had such dull randos as in this film to hang with – the rotating likes of Ajay, JD, Fatty, Jacky, flakey, lacky, teri… – I’d give up drinking, for sure.

Throughout, the screen splits into half, or there are emojiis and lines of dialogues flashing alongside these bored men and women jabbering to each other.

The penny drops. Maybe, this is a comedy. Instead, the laugh-track would’ve helped more to alert audiences to jokes, if any. I find one.

One of the characters gets shot. He demands from the hero, “Gareebon ke (poor man’s) Brad Pitt, should you [not] call the police?”

The bullet remains lodged in his chest, while everybody continues going from one bar/street to another. At some point, this guy stops pretending he’s fatally injured, and carries on chilling with others.

He’s given up. So have I – now looking at the cellphone screen of the viewer ahead of me, following his Facebook posts. The banal madness does end. We step out of the theatre. There’s even a premiere of this picture lined up for later.
