Apple TV‘s chase thriller Lucky shifts into high gear. Miranda Priestly is back, as the movie sequel to The Devil Wears Prada begins streaming. Syfy‘s The Ark blasts off for a third season. Discovery‘s Expedition X and Expedition Unknown franchises get in on the Shark Week action.
Lucky
Now at its midpoint, the chase thriller starring Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit) shifts into high gear and rarely lets up. The pivotal fourth episode reunites con woman Lucky with her anything-but-trustworthy husband, Cary (Drew Starkey). He fled with $10 million in ill-gotten cash, leaving her vulnerable to pursuit by the FBI and by the gangsters they stole from, including his mother Priscilla (Annette Bening) and her unforgiving boss, Wayne Whittaker (William Fichtner). While the couple argues it out, the feds and the killers close in, culminating in one of the more exciting car chases we’ve seen in a while. It’s another fine mess for the resourceful Lucky to find her way out of, but you’ll have to wait until next week to see how she pulls it off.
The Devil Wears Prada 2
Streaming Premiere
High fashion and higher attitude herald the return of the iconic and feared fashion-magazine editor Miranda Priestly, a role that earned Meryl Streep one of her record 21 Oscar nominations. She reteams with Anne Hathaway as her former put-upon assistant Andy in a 2026 sequel to the hit 2006 comedy, making its streaming debut. In Prada 2, they face the harsh realities of the new media landscape together when Andy rejoins the Runway staff as the features editor.
The Ark
Season Premiere
Noah had it easy compared to the space travelers aboard the Ark 1 in this sci-fi adventure series. After two eventful seasons, the wandering Earth refugees have finally found a home planet on which they’ve established a new colony, Homebase 1. As the third season begins, Captain Garnet (Christie Burke) takes the ship back into space in search of more Earth survivors, while the settlers left behind discover they’re not as alone as they thought they were.
Expedition X

Popular Discovery franchises come together for special Shark Week editions of Expedition X and Expedition Unknown. In Expedition X: Atomic Sharks (8/7c), Phil Torres and Heather Amaro investigate a shark sanctuary in the Pacific’s Marshall Islands, seeking a link between aggressive behavior by the marine predators and the U.S. testing of nuclear bombs in the region in the 1940s and ’50s. Could there be atomic mutants lurking beneath the sea? Followed by Expedition Unknown: Shark Secrets (9/8c), where host Josh Gates digs into some of history’s most infamous shark encounters, including the tragedy following the sinking of the USS Indianapolis in 1945. The evening ends with Alien Sharks: Untamed America (10/9c), with wildlife biologist Forrest Galante traveling the country to find the most bizarre shark specimens.
The Idaho Murders: College Nightmare
Series Premiere
Back in the headlines this week when convicted murderer Bryan Kohberger sought to withdraw his guilty plea in the 2022 stabbing deaths of four University of Idaho students, the crime and its aftermath are examined in a timely three-part docuseries from executive producer Joe Berlinger (Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey) and director Skye Borgman. Featuring police footage and interviews with the victims’ families, the special follows events from the discovery of the tragedy to the ensuing manhunt and arrest. This story apparently isn’t over yet.
- Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (8/7c, ABC): Jeopardy! super champ Jamie Ding and his celebrity guest Ben Affleck are two questions away from $1 million — a feat achieved last season by Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings and Matt Damon. Can they make it all the way? They’ll be followed by Seinfeld alums Jason Alexander and Wayne Knight, then comedians Tig Notaro and Pete Holmes take the hot seat.
- MasterChef (8/7c, Fox): The Top 12 cooks plan a feast in a castle hosting the wedding of Season 15 winners Jesse and Jessica. The guests decide which team comes up short and will be divorced from the competition. Followed by a new episode of Nation’s Dumbest (9/8c).
- House of Stassi (9/8c, Freeform): Reality-TV diva Stassi Schroeder welcomes cameras back into her influencer life.
- Diarra from Detroit (streaming on Paramount+): The comedic mystery series returns for a second season with creator/star Diarra Kilpatrick as Diarra Brickland, an amateur urban detective whose latest antics include a treasure hunt that puts her and those around her in danger.
- Trying (streaming on Apple TV): Things get complicated for Karen (Sian Brooke) in a laugh-out-loud episode of the domestic comedy when she’s forced to hide her husband Scott (Darren Boyd), who’s supposed to be rowing his way across the ocean, from the rest of the family. A tough job when they all show up out of concern over news that an Atlantic hurricane is heading his way. What happens if they find out he’s lurking in the shower?
- The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder (streaming on Disney+): The animated family comedy enters its fourth and final season.
- Eons: Life and Death on Pangea (streaming on the PBS app): A six-part docuseries, also streaming on YouTube and available on PBS stations (check local listings), recreates the mass extinction event known as the “Great Dying,” when more than 80 percent of Earth’s species vanished approximately 252 million years ago.
- A Woman of Substance (streaming on BritBox): With the remake of the romantic drama based on Barbara Taylor Bradford‘s novel nearing the end of its first season, BritBox presents the original 1985 miniseries, starring Deborah Kerr and Jenny Seagrove as the elder and younger versions of Emma Harte, in its entirety.
