Scott Snyder And Matt Fraction On Batman Vs Absolute Batman Comic

Scott Snyder and Matt Fraction on their Batman Vs Absolute Batman comic, Batman Of Two Worlds, coming from DC in September for Batman Day

    Article Summary

    • Scott Snyder and Matt Fraction team for Batman of Two Worlds, a DC crossover pitting Batman against Absolute Batman.
    • Javi Fernandez and Nick Derington split art duties as each Batman tackles the same mystery from very different worlds.
    • Despite the Batman vs Absolute Batman setup, the two Dark Knights will not meet in the one-shot’s dual narrative.
    • DC revealed Batman of Two Worlds at SDCC, with the Absolute Batman crossover launching on Batman Day, September 19.

Batman of Two Worlds is an all-new DC Comics/Absolute crossover written by Matt Fraction and Scott Snyder, and drawn by Javi Fernandez and Nick Derington, each taking their version of Batman and seeing how he addresses the same thorny issue, to highlight the differences between the two Batmen and their worlds. And while they will be dealing with the same mystery, they will not meet. And it will be launched on Batman Day, the 19th of September in comic book stores, bookstores and libraries the world over. And just announced by DC Comics at their Gotham panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

    DC’s Gotham City Friday July 24, 2026 11:15am – 12:15pmPDT Room 6DE

Top DC creators examine the heroes, villains, and the bad seeds shaping Gotham City’s future. The panel includes an early look at what is coming this fall, including a major reveal. Featuring G. Willow Wilson (Poison Ivy), Matt Fraction (Batman), Tom Taylor (Detective Comics), Tate Brombal (Batgirl), Christopher Cantwell (Batman: Bad Seeds – Gotham Central), Scott Snyder (Absolute Batman), and others. Moderated by Rob Levin (group editor, DC).

Batman Day is an annual official celebration held by DC Comics and usually falls on the third Saturday of September. It’s a global fan event celebrating Batman with new comic releases, variant covers, store events, cosplay, giveaways, panels, and special promotions at comic shops. Big comic releases like the Batman of Two Worlds one-shot sit alongside special editions, posters, and exclusive merchandise. Local comic stores host events, signings, and costume contests, and DC highlights different Batman stories, artists, and writers, often from around the world. and now with Two Worlds… We earlier talked about how DC Comics is trying to get Absolute Batman readers to read other Batman comic books they publish, and it seems like this is a natural second shoe to drop…
