Based on the original work of Lee Dong-gun, who has accumulated 3.5 billion views globally, this performance was completed by Sam Company and Studio N after a five-year joint planning and development process. The vast narrative is compressed into a 160-minute elaborate stage to convey deep comfort and pleasant energy to the audience.
Naver Webtoon Super IP ‘Yumi’s Cells’, which captivated global fandom, opened on the musical stage. A new character “109 Cells,” which adds the theme of the original and the charm of the musical, has appeared, expanding the world view rather than reproducing the webtoon as it is to convey the message of the play more clearly to the audience. Storytelling, which was solved through “an omniscient cell point of view,” is centered on the stories of “cells” and “me” with colorful personalities. “Who is the male protagonist in Yumi’s world?” If you listen to the voices of the cells and laugh, you will find the answer.
Yumi’s Sephoric Village. There are ‘cells’ living here who work for Yumi with their roles and names. However, there are cells that have no name or role. It is called ‘Traffic Cell 109’. Apprentice Cell 109 admires the prime cell ‘love’ where everything is perfect, and one day struggles to find a name and role so that he can do things for Yumi himself. Meanwhile, Yumi’s love front is in a state of emergency due to her boyfriend, Goo Woong’s female friend Sae-yi, and the sepok village is also in crisis due to the heavy flood and the emergence of the farewell clock. Can Apprentice Cell 109 – pointed out as the only hope of keeping the peace between Yumi and Cell Village by “Chromocyte” – find her name and protect Yumi’s love?

Works loved by webtoons and dramas met the space called the stage and were reproduced beautifully with new art. Through the three-dimensional production of LEDs and images, the imaginary village in the head is visualized individually. In particular, cells reborn as symbolic visuals show off costumes and silhouettes that maximize their characters. It embodies Yumi’s complex inner side as a character with strong personality, and has been completed as a touching drama with laughter and empathy.
As it is a creative premiere, it introduced “screen subtitles” as unusual as a musical for audiences who are new to new numbers in the stage language. The audience does not stop listening to music with their ears, but also allows them to appreciate the lyrics with their eyes, thereby enhancing the original meaning and immersion of the work contained in it. These visual stage devices go beyond simple attractions and convey the message that ‘the protagonist of my life is me’ through the original work in three dimensions.
