Ore. (KOIN) — The Willamette Valley is getting a Hollywood shoutout in Netflix‘s new 10-episode series The Hawk, starring Will Ferrell
In one scene, Ferrell’s character, golf legend Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, orders a glass of wine and over-enunciates, “I’ll take a Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley.”
The line caught the attention of Willamette Valley Wineries, which shared the moment on social media and thanked Netflix and The Hawk for the recognition.
The series follows Hawkins as he chases one final major championship while bringing those closest to him along for the unpredictable ride.
It’s the second notable time Ferrell has mentioned the area on camera, with the other example coming in Anchorman 2.
The mention comes as Oregon’s wine industry faces a challenging period, with leaders pointing to declining production, changing consumer habits and slower demand as major concerns.
The Willamette Valley remains one of Oregon’s most recognized wine regions, known especially for its Pinot Noir and its reputation among wine enthusiasts around the world.
