Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Udeh, has been confirmed as the Special Guest and keynote speaker at the Enugu Gaming Conference (EGC) 2026.

The event, scheduled to take place from July 29 to 30, 2026 at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Enugu, is organised by Events Arcade Solutions Limited in partnership with Enugu State Gaming and Lotteries Commission (ESGC).

Udeh’s endorsement further reinforced the conference growing status as one of Nigeria’s foremost platforms for advancing conversations around gaming technology, regulation, investment, innovation and digital transformation.

EGC 2026 themed “Code, Capital and Compliance: Unlocking Nigeria’s iGaming Tech Opportunity” will convene policymakers, regulators, technology innovators, gaming operators, investors, legal experts and entrepreneurs to explore practical strategies for building a globally competitive and innovation-driven gaming ecosystem.

Dr. Udeh is expected to deliver a keynote address on the role of innovation, science and technology in accelerating economic growth, strengthening indigenous technology development, fostering digital entrepreneurship and positioning Nigeria as a continental leader in emerging technology industries.

As governments and businesses increasingly embrace digital innovation to drive productivity and economic diversification, the Minister’s participation underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting technology-enabled sectors that can create jobs, attract investment and stimulate sustainable economic growth.

The conference will feature an impressive lineup of distinguished speakers and industry experts from Nigeria and across Africa, including Peter Kesitilwe, Chief Executive Officer of the African iGaming Alliance, who will facilitate the Government–Industry Roundtable; Jeremiah Maangi, Founder of iGaming Afrika, Kenya; Kelani Opeyemi Mercy, Co-founder and Lead of Isoftnova Technologies Limited; alongside regulators, compliance specialists, gaming technology developers, fintech executives, legal practitioners, startup founders, investors and other leading voices shaping Africa’s gaming ecosystem.

Speaking ahead of the conference, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Enugu State Gaming and Lotteries Commission, Prince Arinze Arum, described the Minister’s acceptance of the invitation as a significant endorsement of the conference’s vision.

“The participation of the Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology reflects the increasing recognition of gaming technology as an important component of Nigeria’s digital economy. EGC2026 is creating a platform where government, innovators, investors and industry leaders can collaborate to unlock new opportunities for economic growth, technological advancement and responsible regulation.”

He added that the conference is designed to bridge policy and innovation while showcasing Nigeria’s capacity to develop homegrown technologies capable of competing on the global stage.

“The future of gaming is being driven by technology. From software engineering and artificial intelligence to cybersecurity, payment systems, regulatory technology and data analytics, innovation is redefining the industry. EGC2026 will bring together the people and institutions leading this transformation and facilitate conversations that will shape the next phase of growth for Nigeria’s gaming sector.”

The two-day conference will feature keynote addresses, executive panel discussions, regulatory roundtables, technical masterclasses, exhibitions, strategic networking sessions and the highly anticipated Gaming Tech Startup Showcase, where innovative startups will present solutions addressing gaming software, digital payments, fraud prevention, responsible gaming, regulatory technology and emerging digital services.

The event is expected to attract participants from government institutions, gaming regulatory authorities, licensed operators, technology companies, financial institutions, development organisations, academia, venture capital firms and international industry stakeholders, further positioning Enugu State as a leading destination for innovation, investment and policy dialogue within Africa’s digital gaming landscape.
