The Milwaukee Brewers are back from the All-Star break.
And they’re finally back home. They’re also back on their usual broadcast location for the entire weekend.
The National League Central-leading Brewers begin their longest homestand of the season on Friday, July 17, with a series against the Miami Marlins, who have surged into a wild-card spot in the NL over the last month and a half.
It comes after the Brewers played their longest stretch away from home of the season in which they played two doubleheaders as part of a three-city, 11-game road trip before the All-Star break.
While the Brewers have had some time to recover, it won’t get any easier. Not only do they continue to battle pitching injuries, a hot Marlins team comes to town. Since the end of May, the Marlins have gone 26-11, to go from eight games under .500 to 52-45. During this span, Miami has only lost two series.
One came in the final series before the All-Star break. Like the Brewers, the Marlins were swept last weekend when they combined to only score five runs in three games.
Runs might be hard to come by for the Brewers to start the series as they’ll face two of the National League’s top pitchers in Sandy Alcantara, who is tied for the MLB lead in quality starts, on July 17 and then all-star Max Meyer, who is top-10 in ERA, on July 18.
Meanwhile, the Brewers acquired two pitchers from the Houstons Astros earlier this week to help bolster an injured and fatigued staff.
Here’s what to know about the Brewers series against the Marlins, including where to watch, start time for the games, probable pitchers, tickets, standings and more:
