The Milwaukee Brewers are back from the All-Star break.

And they’re finally back home. They’re also back on their usual broadcast location for the entire weekend.

The National League Central-leading Brewers begin their longest homestand of the season on Friday, July 17, with a series against the Miami Marlins, who have surged into a wild-card spot in the NL over the last month and a half.

It comes after the Brewers played their longest stretch away from home of the season in which they played two doubleheaders as part of a three-city, 11-game road trip before the All-Star break.

While the Brewers have had some time to recover, it won’t get any easier. Not only do they continue to battle pitching injuries, a hot Marlins team comes to town. Since the end of May, the Marlins have gone 26-11, to go from eight games under .500 to 52-45. During this span, Miami has only lost two series.

One came in the final series before the All-Star break. Like the Brewers, the Marlins were swept last weekend when they combined to only score five runs in three games.

Runs might be hard to come by for the Brewers to start the series as they’ll face two of the National League’s top pitchers in Sandy Alcantara, who is tied for the MLB lead in quality starts, on July 17 and then all-star Max Meyer, who is top-10 in ERA, on July 18.

Meanwhile, the Brewers acquired two pitchers from the Houstons Astros earlier this week to help bolster an injured and fatigued staff.

Here’s what to know about the Brewers series against the Marlins, including where to watch, start time for the games, probable pitchers, tickets, standings and more:

    Are the Brewers playing today?

Yes, after four days off for the All-Star break the Brewers are back to begin the unofficial second-half of the season.

They open a three-game series against the Marlins to kickstart a nine-game homestand on Friday, July 17.

It’s the Brewers’ first home game in 15 days following their longest road trip of the season and the extended time off for the All-Star game.

What time is the Brewers game today?

First pitch for the Brewers vs. Marlins is 6:40 p.m. on Friday, July 17.

What channel is the Brewers game tonight?

The Brewers will play all of their games this weekend on Brewers.TV.

    • Brewers add needed depth to rotation picture to help an injury-riddled pitching staff
    • Brandon Woodruff, wife Jonie welcome third child into their Crew

    Brewers starting pitcher today

Here are the probable starting pitchers for the Brewers’ series against the Marlins.

    • Brewers RHP Logan Henderson (3-1, 3.18 ERA) vs. Marlins RHP Sandy Alcantara (10-5, 3.99 ERA)
    • Brewers LHP Shane Drohan (4-3, 3.09 ERA) vs. Marlin RHP Max Meyer (9-1, 2.58 ERA)
    • Brewers LHP Robert Gasser (2-4, 5.24 ERA) vs. Marlin RHP Eury Perez (5-7, 3.78 ERA)

    Brewers record

    The Brewers are 59-37.

It’s the most number of wins at the All-Streak break in franchise history. The team reached a season-high 25 games over .500 prior to arriving in Pittsburgh on two instances during their five-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals.

    Brewers tickets

While Friday’s game is going on as scheduled amid air quality levels never seen before in Milwaukee and across the state, there is an option for fans to exchange tickets to another game later in the season.

Fans who choose this option should go to Brewers.com/gameupdates for more information.

The Brewers made the announcement earlier on July 17 and said it was in contact with Major League Baseball.

Wildfire smoke has blanketed all of Wisconsin this week, resulting in hazardous air quality levels and statewide air quality alerts.

Milwaukee set a record for the worst air quality reading in the city’s history on July 16 and for portions of the day it was among the worst in the world. While there has been improvement, the city remains in the “very unhealthy” category for its air quality as of 3:30 p.m. with an Air Quality Index of just under 300. It’s AQI exceeded 600 on July 16.

    Brewers standings

The Brewers (59-37) come out of the All-Star break with five-game lead in the standings over the Chicago Cubs and an 8.5 lead over the third-place St. Louis Cardinals. They also have a 3.5-game lead over the Atlanta Braves for the No. 2 overall seed in the National League. The Brewers trail the two-time reigning World Series champion Dodgers by just 1.5 games for the No. 1 seed.

    National League Central standings

The NL Central is the only division in baseball with four of its five teams above .500. The Pirates swept the Brewers just before the All-Star break to get to three games over .500.

    • Milwaukee Brewers: 59-37
    • Chicago Cubs: 54-42
    • St. Louis Cardinals: 50-45
    • Pittsburgh Pirates: 50-47
    • Cincinnati Reds: 43-52

    Brewers schedule

The Brewers open a nine-game homestand on Friday, July 17.

They play the Miami Marlins for three games, followed by the New York Mets for three on July 20-22 and then the Colorado Rockies next weekend for three on July 24-26.

    • Saturday, July 18: vs. Marlins (3:10 p.m.)
