Yonago Gainax and Gainax co-founder and princess art Game series creator Akai Takami A new visual novel was announced on Tuesday Komatsu Sakyouof Japanese sink (Japanese suppression) science fiction novel titled Japanese suppression Desuyo (Hey, Japan is sinking). The visual novel will be available digitally in Japan in the summer of 2025 and in a limited physical edition on PC, followed by Nintendo Will switch in fall 2025.

This visual novel takes place in an alternate Japan where novels have been abandoned, otaku Persecuted. A mysterious substance called MOE, produced in the upper layer of the Mohorovich discontinuity (the boundary between the earth’s crust and mantle), can activate the imaginary function of the human brain. While the novel was suppressed, the movement of the earth’s crust caused a large number of MOE to be released, triggering the outbreak of the anthropomorphism phenomenon (PP) in Japan, using MOE as a medium to transform anything into a character.
Dr. Tadokoro was one of the first people to discover the existence of MOE and the person who held the key to solving the PP problem suddenly disappeared. Deep-sea submarine pilot Onodera and Assistant Professor Yukinaga who transformed into female characters, with the help of the submarine and Tatsumi who also transformed, embarked on a journey through chaotic Japan to find Dr. Tadokoro.
Komatsu launches original Japanese sink The novel was published in 1973 and inspired two live-action films – one also premiered in 1973 and the other in 2006 by Gainax co-founder and Shin Godzilla director Higuchi Shinji. It also inspired a 1975 live-action series, as well as two comic book adaptations: the first by Gorgo 13 author Saito Takaoand comics from 2006-2009 Tokihiko Ishiki. Masaaki Yuasa Directed a 10-episode animated series based on the novel The Sinking of Japan: 2020first broadcast on Netflix 2020.
