    Video transcript

All right, here with Candace Parker on the, the AT&T Connection Cup.

How excited was it being out there to compete and be a part of this with AT&T?

Well, obviously I follow soccer, and Alex Morgan is one of my favorite all-time soccer players, so it was great going head-to-head against her, and it’s always fun, to hear the answers of the fans.

So we had a great time.

So in like 20 years, you’re gonna say you beat her in a penalty shootout or something?

    Yeah, it’s gonna grow.

As the years go on, it’s gonna be that, you know, it was a PK, it was tied at four, I stepped up there on the fifth PK and she, she couldn’t knock it down.

    That’s what it’s gonna be.

You mentioned you’ve been watching a lot, a lot of World Cup.

Anybody that you really didn’t know or became a fan of, kind of just watching the tournament?

Well, I’ve always been a Hakimi fan, so I watched Morocco close.

Obviously who doesn’t love Messi and his dominance?

But obviously, Lamine Yamal, man, that dude is crazy, just in terms of him being only 19 years old and on this biggest stage playing as well as he’s playing.

A big night tonight for the Sparks.

Nneka’s set to break the She needs one point.

We’re gonna assume she gets it.

She passed you a little bit ago.

Just what does she mean for the franchise and women’s sports and the WNBA as a whole?

Well, I think the fact that she decided to come back to the Sparks after leaving, just to come back to a franchise that drafted you, super special, super happy for her, and just being able to be along for the process of her growth.

And I mean, she didn’t come in, you know, dominating the way that she is now.

    She grew consistently every year.

And so to be able to be the proud vet, I’m super proud of her and, I mean, she’s got many more buckets.

Your co-host, Aliyah Boston, has so- s- sort of entered the MVP discussion a little bit.

    She’s on the edge.

Just talk to us about the ups and downs you’ve seen from her in the, the fever this season.

Well, Aliyah Boston, they asked her to add the three-point shot to her game, and this year she’s coming back, and I think she’s third in three-point field goal percentage from the three.

So she’s shooting the ball really well with confidence.

    I think she’s grown a lot.

She has the ball in her hands a lot, and I think obviously the team’s going through ups and downs, but they did last year and they were able to, to get to the semis game five in overtime.

So I think she’s really growing as a player.

    All right.

And last thing, World Cup prediction for Sunday.

    Lead off.

You know, I think that, I think the young stud in Lamine Yamal steals the, the thunder of Messi.

I just think Spain is playing so well.

Like Spain is playing so consistent, they can play so many different ways and it’s so much fun watching them play, but you never count Argentina out.

What is it, like 10 goals after the 73rd minute?

    It’s crazy.
