Shaboozey is bringing a comic book to San Diego Comic-Con. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter makes his SDCC debut on Friday, July 24 to launch The Outlaw Cherie Lee, the first issue in a three-part western series from Range <a href="https://comicvibe.com/race-into-action-with-new-dc-comics-kid-flash-dc-multiverse-figure/” title=”Race Into Action with New DC Comics Kid Flash DC Multiverse Figure”>Comics that expands the story of his fourth album, The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, out July 31until August 18. Comic-Con attendees get it first, exclusively on the show floor
The Black western keeps finding new lanes. The Harder They Fall put it back on screen. Cowboy Carter put it back on the charts, and Shaboozey was the only artist to appear on that album twice. Now the man who turned “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” into the longest-leading No. 1 in Hot 100 history is putting the Black western on the comic rack. The move sounds left field until you remember the album is a full outlaw revenge story narrated by Jamie Foxx. This material was always headed for panels.
Inside Shaboozey’s Debut Comic Book

The Shaboozey comic book follows Cherie Lee, whose sheriff father is killed by a gang called the Bootcut Boys. She sets out for revenge and falls for one of the outlaws she is hunting, a choice that costs her everything. According to Billboard, the 20-track concept album tells that same story in song. The comic gives it a second canvas.

Where to Catch Shaboozey at Comic-Con 2026
Shaboozey sits down for a live episode of Get Rec’d With Straw Hat Goofy, the iHeartRadio podcast hosted by 2026 TIME100 Digital Creator JuJu Green, on Friday, July 24 from 7 PM to 8 PM in Room 6BCF. The conversation covers the comic and the album, plus a look at the new Jamie Foxx-narrated trailer. Green built his platform putting people onto stories worth their time. A western revenge tale from the “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” artist fits that brief.
Earlier that evening, Shaboozey signs copies of The Outlaw Cherie Lee at the Funko booth (#5341) on the show floor starting at 5:30 PM. The signing copies are the Comic-Con exclusive run, available weeks before anyone else can buy the book.

The Outlaw Cherie Lee #1 is available exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con ahead of its nationwide release on August 18. The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales arrives everywhere July 31
