Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25, and Activision Blizzard revealed more details about what players can expect from the multiplayer game at the launch. This includes taking a look at the remaining maps not featured in the beta, as well as improvements to the game made under the player feedback program, such as spawn tweaks and movement changes.

“Black Ops 6” will launch 16 new multiplayer maps. The beta has a total of eight maps for players to test early, with many preferring the smaller sizes. Activision confirmed that while most of the beta maps are small, many of the remaining maps are more medium-sized.

Play now: Black Ops 6’s action-hero campaign makes Call of Duty better, but there are some risks

As shown below, the additional eight launch maps offer a variety of map locations, including the outskirts of an international football stadium, a safe house in the mountains of Bulgaria, and the 6v6 snowy Vorkuta map that takes players back to the setting of Black Out. . There’s even a small gunfight map called “Warhead,” which features a version of Nuketown that has been mostly destroyed by a barrage of missiles.

Black Ops 6’s Call of Duty and Ranked Match map selections will be announced in the coming months. Activision said: “We’re excited about the variety of maps this year and we’re always keeping the competitive nature of multiplayer in mind.”

In addition to showing off the remaining maps, Activision also detailed that two weeks in the Black Ops 6 beta provided enough feedback to make necessary generation improvements. No specific details were revealed as to what build adjustments were made, but the publisher said the build system is always under evaluation and the developers will continue to make necessary updates to the build “during launch and beyond.”

Treyarch’s Omnimovement system is one of Black Ops 6’s key new features, allowing players to dash, slide, and dive in any direction. While the action felt very fluid and fun during our hands-on experience with Black Ops 6, Treyarch is already making adjustments to further improve fluidity and allow players to tailor sprint behavior to their own personal playstyle. This includes slightly increasing the player’s initial swipe speed, improving movement animations in third-person view, and adjusting new smart movement settings.

Headshot damage will also change based on player feedback. The publisher explained: “A common feedback we’ve seen is that low headshot damage reduces the impact of skilled play and makes it difficult to challenge certain positions of power. We agree with these sentiments and are working on tweaking many weapons to reward players in engagements Players who get multiple headshots.

Of course, the publisher also revealed that they don’t want changes to headshot damage to significantly affect the consistency of kill times in Black Ops 6, so the developers will continue to monitor the effectiveness of headshots during launch and beyond.

Another area of improvement is the overall performance of the game. The beta version of “Black Ops 6” has some freezing and stuttering issues, and the publisher says the root cause of these performance issues has been found and fixed. Other areas of performance improvements include resolving general scripting errors and fixing UI-related issues, as well as overall improvements and fixes to Call of Duty asset flow.

Smaller tweaks mentioned on launch day include improvements to the winner’s circle functionality, reduced overall camera movement for dash, tac dash, and sliding movements, and a kill counter on the HUD to track player kill progress. Activision also said it will complete weapon balancing, but those specific details will be shared in the patch notes released when Black Ops 6 launches.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released globally on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC on October 25. Be sure to check out all the details revealed for Black Ops 6 at launch, including campaign details, zombies, and multiplayer features.
