The sun is setting on Insomniac Games‘ new Ratchet & Clank game before its full global release. Developed for both Android and iOS, the game will remain available to existing players for a limited time.
Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is officially shutting down, with developer Oh Bibi Studios announcing the end of development and support. The announcement was made on the game’s official website on Friday. The studio also confirmed that players who already have the game can continue playing until its servers permanently close next year.
The mobile spin-off never received a worldwide release and remained available through a soft launch in select territories, including Canada, the Nordics, France, and parts of Asia. The news follows the developers’ <a href="https://blog.playstation.com/2026/07/15/ratchet-clank-ranger-rumble-gameplay-details-on-the-upcoming-mobile-hero-shooter/” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>announcement in July that mobile pre-registration had opened ahead of the planned global launch. However, the cancellation means the game will never reach its intended worldwide audience.
When will Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble shut down?
The final content update for the free-to-play arena shooter arrives today. The title will be completely removed from both the App Store and Google Play Store on November 21, 2026, to prevent any new player downloads.
The game’s servers will shut down on May 1, 2027, giving existing players until then to continue playing. Until the shutdown, all multiplayer modes, competitive features, and matchmaking systems will remain available. The Qwark Pass seasons will also continue running, with the Super Pass becoming free and its content available through gameplay. The November update will also distribute pre-registration rewards to eligible players through their in-game inbox.
All in-app purchases have been disabled. Players can still earn and spend their existing in-game currency on characters, cosmetics, and upgrades until the servers close. The closure won’t impact other Ratchet & Clank games or PlayStation services.
Oh Bibi Studios developed the game in collaboration with Insomniac Games, while Sony Interactive Entertainment published it under the PlayStation Studios label.
