An Independence, Missouri, woman has been sentenced to prison after she admitted to threatening and terrorizing a victim who blocked her on Roblox.
Julianne Grace Willis, 26, of Independence, has been sentenced to 41 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of cyberstalking.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the victim noticed a relative, who was a minor, was receiving demeaning messages on Roblox from someone who claimed to be a 24-year-old man named Chris.
The FBI later traced the account belonging to “Chris” to Willis.
The victim, who lives in Kansas, blocked the account. Willis then began harassing the victim with calls, texts and social media messages. These messages contained threats to rape and kill the victim and their family, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Willis made a fake dating profile, leading men, who expected romantic encounters, to the victim’s house.
The victim also had to change jobs because Willis called the victim’s place of employment and made derogatory comments.
Federal authorities note Willis was previously sentenced to two years in prison after being convicted in November 2025 of stalking in Polk County, Iowa. She has to complete that state sentence before serving her federal sentence.
“Ms. Willis’ multiple convictions for stalking demonstrate a sustained pattern of threatening and harassing conduct that caused significant disruption and fear in the victim’s life,” said U.S. Attorney Ryan A. Kriegshauser. “Cyberstalking is not a harmless online activity. It can have serious real-world consequences for victims, their families, and their livelihoods. We hope this sentence encourages victims of stalking and online harassment to report these crimes to law enforcement and seek assistance before the conduct escalates.”
