Kung Fu Kung Fool, the action-comedy manga by Indian creator duo masterlynx, has received an official English release throughKadokawa’s KadoComi platform. The manga is being published under Kadokawa World Manga, a label dedicated to English releases of ongoing manga series. Readers can access its first and latest chapters for free. The series launched on the platform on May 15.
Originally written in English by the creators, the manga combines Japanese influences with kung fu and references to the legendary outlaw Goemon. Kadokawa’s editorial team adapted the Japanese dialogue and sound effects remotely during production.
The story follows Goemon, a notorious thief who becomes involved in a fight against a gang called the Whiskers over a treasure connected to a young boy named Bao. The situation takes a turn when Goemon’s hidden second personality awakens during a battle, giving him instinctive kung fu abilities.
masterlynx consists of Indian creators Jivan and Yash, who began publishing manga-inspired work under the name in 2022. The duo won the Silver Prize at Kadokawa’s international Wordless Manga Contest in 2025 for Heartsteel. Kung Fu Kung Fool is the first professional serialisation to come out of Kadokawa World Manga Atelier, an initiative focused on finding and supporting manga creators from outside Japan.
The story’s Goemon shares his name with Ishikawa Goemon, a historical Japanese outlaw who lived during the 16th century. He led a group of bandits and later became a legendary folk hero, with stories often portraying him as someone who stole valuables to give to the poor.
