Say what you will about Netflix, the streaming giant can still draw major eyeballs for old shows every now and then.
That’s the case for MGM+ supernatural thriller series “From”. The show aired its fourth season earlier this year and has a fifth and final run hitting Spring 2027.
On October 19th, the first three seasons became available on Netflix and the show quicky racked up viewing figures to the point of becoming the week’s No. 1 show on streaming (Oct 19th-25th).
The series pulled in 1.65 billion minutes watched on Nielsen’s streaming charts, taking the top spot from the new season of “The Diplomat” which came in second on the overall and first on the originals with that show’s new season clocking in 1.2 billion minutes watched.
Also making the top 10 were “The Terminal List” in 5th (830 million minutes), “Crystal Lake” in 7th (790 million minutes) and “Nobody Wants This” in 10th (725 million minutes). The live-action “Moana” debut on Disney+ was the most popular film with 579 million minutes watched.
The creators of “From” have teased the final season will prioritise character drama over checking off every unresolved mystery. The series has drawn comparisons to “Lost” in the way it sets up and draws out mystery.
