French puppeteer Laurie Cannac has directed the show, drawing inspiration from her interactions with artists and communities across Bangladesh. Cannac and Swatee Bhadra will perform on stage, accompanied by live music from the Nonabhumi Organisation, with choreography by Mohammad Farhad Ahmed.
The narrative follows two scientists investigating the influence of ghosts on everyday life in Dhaka. Their research leads them on a journey where the boundaries between the human and supernatural worlds begin to blur, taking them beyond the capital to the Sundarbans, where they encounter unexpected connections between people, nature, and unseen forces.
Through Bengali ghost stories, the production reimagines Dhaka as a surreal metropolis, where familiar urban realities—including traffic congestion and rapid urbanization—are given supernatural explanations.
The November 6 performance will be staged in English and Bangla, while the November 7 show will be presented in French and Bangla. Both performances are free and open to all, subject to seat availability.
