The debut edition of the UG Yard Party delivered a vibrant celebration of music, fashion and self-expression, bringing together partygoers for an experience defined by entertainment, style and Uganda’s signature spirit.
Unlike conventional nightlife events centred on large crowds and late-night partying, the UG Yard Party offered a more curated experience, placing emphasis on shared moments, quality entertainment and the people behind the music.
Speaking about the concept, Roy Tumwizere, Uganda Waragi Brand Manager, said the event was designed to create a platform that brings together different elements of contemporary urban culture.
“Our purpose is to create a dynamic party platform where music, fashion, and self-expression collide with the spirit that binds us. That is exactly what we have brought to life with this debut edition of The UG Yard Party,” Tumwizere said.
The event opened on a high note with an automotive drift show, which attracted early arrivals with a series of impressive driving manoeuvres and stunts. The display set the tone for the entertainment programme, with DJs Jefas and Trelly taking over the decks to keep the energy levels high.
Fashion also played a central role in the experience through a pop-up curated by Dopejongs, a streetwear fashion brand specialising in ready-to-wear denim pieces, including jorts and jackets.
The fashion house used the platform to unveil its new Legacy Collection, a range designed for individuals who embrace bold and expressive fashion. The collection featured distinctive patterns, unconventional cuts and embellished statement pieces, bringing contemporary urban streetwear into the event space.
The drinks experience was equally central to the occasion, with Uganda Waragi providing a selection of refreshments for guests. Partygoers enjoyed ice-cold Uganda Waragi cocktails, alongside the brand’s lemon and ginger serve on the rocks, adding a distinctly local flavour to the celebration.
Music remained at the heart of the party, with a diverse selection of trending hits and genres keeping guests entertained throughout the night. Amapiano featured prominently in the musical programme, while the energetic House of Motion dance crew took to the floor with choreographed performances that added another layer of entertainment.
The night drew to a close with DJs Bugy and Kai, who delivered a selection of Ugandan and East African classics. Their sets sparked sing-alongs among revellers, providing a nostalgic and distinctly regional finish to the event.
Through its combination of music, fashion, automotive entertainment and local spirits, the inaugural UG Yard Party introduced a platform that celebrates contemporary urban culture while bringing people together through shared experiences.
