Singapore Airlines (SIA) plans to upgrade its <a href="https://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/us/corporate/newsroom/press-release/2026/oct-to-dec-2026/in_flight_<a href="https://comicvibe.com/neutral-zee-entertainment-target-of-rs-70-motilal-oswal/” title=”Neutral Zee Entertainment; target of Rs 70: Motilal Oswal”>entertainment_next_generation_KrisWorld/” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>KrisWorld in-flight entertainment (IFE) system with 4K touchscreens measuring up to 32 inches, personalized entertainment features, and Bluetooth headphone connectivity. The new system will offer more than 2,500 entertainment options, a wellness planner, and the ability to save entertainment preferences across multiple flights. Beginning in 2027, the airline plans to introduce high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi on selected aircraft.
New KrisWorld Features Larger Screens and Personalized Entertainment
SIA will begin rolling out the upgraded KrisWorld on 41 retrofitted Airbus A350-900 long-haul and ultra-long-range aircraft in 2027, along with its upcoming Boeing 777-9 aircraft. The system will feature 4K touchscreen displays with improved picture quality, including OLED screens on selected aircraft and cabin classes.
On the retrofitted Airbus A350-900 long-haul aircraft, Business Class passengers will receive 22-inch 4K OLED screens. The ultra-long-range A350-900 aircraft will feature 32-inch 4K OLED screens in First Class and 22-inch displays in Business Class. The upcoming Boeing 777-9 aircraft will offer 4K touchscreens across all four cabin classes, including 32-inch screens in First Class, 20-inch displays in Business Class, screens measuring up to 16 inches in Premium Economy, and up to 13 inches in Economy.

The entertainment upgrades will include spatial audio technology to improve sound quality when watching movies, television shows, and other content. First Class passengers will receive Bang & Olufsen wireless Bluetooth headphones with active noise cancellation, while Business Class and Premium Economy passengers will have noise-canceling headphones. Economy passengers will receive wired earphones, and travelers can connect their own compatible Bluetooth headphones in supported cabins.
SIA has redesigned the KrisWorld interface to make it easier for passengers to find entertainment. The updated system will include improved search and filtering tools, larger icons, and shortcuts to preferred content categories. A new mini-player will let passengers continue watching a video while browsing other options. A sidebar will display flight information without interrupting their entertainment.
Passengers can personalize their entertainment across multiple flights by logging in with their KrisFlyer accounts. This will allow them to save favorite titles, receive recommendations, and resume watching programs from where they stopped on previous flights.
For passengers connecting through Singapore, the system will display information about their onward Singapore Airlines flights, including departure gates and terminals. First Class and Business Class passengers on selected aircraft can save preferred seat positions for dining, relaxing, and sleeping, while First Class passengers can save their lighting preferences for future flights.
A new wellness planner will offer sleep and meditation tracks, breathing exercises, in-seat stretching videos, and articles about healthy living. First Class and Business Class passengers will receive suggestions for seat positions and lighting, while passengers across all cabin classes can access beverage recommendations.
Younger passengers will have access to an updated Kids’ Mode with a simpler interface and age-appropriate entertainment. The airline will refresh its selection of movies, television shows, music, and podcasts each month, including content from Apple TV, BBC, CNA, HBO Max, iQIYI, and Paramount+. Passengers can watch live news and sports through BBC News and Sport 24.
Starlink Will Bring High-Speed Wi-Fi to More Flights
Beginning in early 2027, SIA plans to introduce Starlink’s high-speed Wi-Fi on selected aircraft. The airline will gradually install the service on its Airbus A380, A350-900 long-haul, and A350-900 ultra-long-range aircraft.
Starlink uses low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites to provide internet connectivity. According to SIA, the service will allow passengers to stream videos, browse social media, play online games, and work on their personal devices.
Complimentary unlimited Wi-Fi will remain available to passengers in Suites, First Class, and Business Class. PPS Club members and KrisFlyer members traveling in Premium Economy and Economy will retain access to complimentary unlimited Wi-Fi on Starlink-equipped aircraft.

The airline will add more charging options on its retrofitted A350-900 aircraft and upcoming Boeing 777-9s. Passengers will have access to USB-C charging ports, while First Class and Business Class passengers will receive wireless charging pads.
Singapore Airlines Senior Vice President Customer Experience Yeoh Phee Teik said passenger feedback helped shape the new entertainment and connectivity features. “Our customers told us that they wanted more choice and flexibility in how they spend their time on board, as well as entertainment and connectivity that fit more naturally into their journey,” Yeoh said.
The upgrades come as Singapore Airlines continues to improve its long-haul passenger experience. The airline recently announced new amenity kits across all cabin classes and its first-ever Business Class sleeper suits. SIA will serve as a headline partner for APEX FTE EXPO 2026, taking place in Singapore on November 18 and 19.
