The Horror Hit of the Year Is Coming to Netflix… After Halloween Has Ended for Some Reason

For November, Netflix has decided to onboard around 30 Christmas movies – most of them Hallmark shlock/slop from the past five years. No shade if that’s your bag, but these bastards take up a huge slice of November’s pumpkin pie. There’s Christmas in castles, on ranches, on ships… basically anywhere and everywhere you’d like to holiday rom-com it up a full month early.

There’s also a new Ron Howard-directed documentary about photographer Richard Avedon, the first three Insidious movies, the first two Resident Evils, Air Force One, Stand By Me, Smile, Looper, Bridesmaids, and a film called The Mummy (which could be four or five different movies from cinema history, just FYI).

And while this is far from its actual streaming debut, 2026 mega-hit Obsession also lands mid-November. You know, if you’re looking for a good family watch during Thanksgiving.

Highlights Coming to Netflix Next Month

If you’re just looking for a detailed list of everything coming to Netflix in November, you can jump to the full release schedule by day.

    Looper (movie, 2012) – November 1

Before The Last Jedi and the three Knives Out mysteries, writer/director Rian Johnson gave us the sci-fi dystopian mindbender Looper, featuring Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as different aged versions of the same time-traversing cold-blooded contract killer. Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels also star. High concept and a lot of fun.

Read IGN’s review of Looper here.

    Rectify: Seasons 1-4 – November 1

After you find Waldo for the 753rd time.

This undermentioned gem from TV’s Golden Era, created by Ray McKinnon, was Sundance TV’s first original scripted series, starring Aden Young as Daniel, a man freed from prison after spending nearly 20 years on death row. Found not guilty due to new evidence, a traumatized Daniel must now reintegrate into society. This powerful, poignant drama also stars Abigail Spencer, J. Smith-Cameron, Adelaide Clemens, Clayne Crawford, and Luke Kirby,

Bass X Machina (new series) – November 3

Bass X Machina, a new adult animated series from LeSean Thomas (Yasuke, Cannon Busters), is a steampunk take on legendary lawman Bass Reeves (voiced by Brian Tyree Henry). In THIS Wild West, brutal outlaws, machines, and supernatural terrors ravage the landscape, forcing Reeves to become judge, jury, and executioner. Janelle Monáe, Cree Summer, and Tati Gabrielle also lend their voices.

    Carolina Caroline (movie, 2026) – November 6

Samara Weaving and Kyle Gallner star in this excellent-but-underseen crime thriller romance from this past summer. Directed by Adam Carter Rehmeier (who also directed Gallner in the great Dinner in America), Carolina Caroline follows a small-town Texas woman (Weaving) who embarks on a dangerous crime spree with a charismatic con man.

Read IGN’s review of Carolina Caroline here.

Heartland (new movie) – November 13

“I’m here to kick ass and find my niece. And I’m all out of red solo cups.”

Shana Feste wrote and directed this new murder mystery, which stars Oscar-winner Jessica Chastain as a former country music star who comes out of seclusion and returns to Nashville after her rising-star singer-songwriter niece goes missing. John Hawkes, Garrett Hedlund, Carter Faith, and Jennifer Nettles also star.

    Obsession (movie, 2026) – November 16

I don’t think anyone needs to be sold on this truly awesome, terrifying micro-budgeted movie. It’s already reshaped the modern horror landscape as everyone now scrambles to find the next thing that costs very little that will make a whole lot. It’s a simple enough Monkey’s Paw-type tale, told expertly and filled with savage, scary layers. A groundbreaking performance by Inde Navarrette punctuates a gruesome campfire tale about agency, consent, and mistaking co-dependency and lust for love.

Read IGN’s review of Obsession here.

The Altruists (miniseries) – November 19

“Hi, we saw you from across the EBar®”

From writer Graham Moore (The Imitation Game), The Altruists is an eight-episode biographical miniseries about the collapse of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, and its sister trading firm, Alameda Research. Focusing on the tumultuous romance/partnership between FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (Anthony Boyle) and Alameda co-CEO Caroline Ellison (Julia Garner), the series will bring to light the crimes and fraud of Gen Z’s “Bonnie & Clyde.”

35 Years Ago, The X-Men Ended Their Best Era With Their Most Important Story

    By JamesJuly 19, 20260

The X-Men are one of Marvel’s biggest IPs, but it wasn’t always that way. In fact, back in the early ’70s, the X-Men were on the last stage before cancellation, simply reprinting their older adventures. That all changed with the introduction of a brand-new team and the start of the most important Marvel comic of…
