Clear your calendar and get cozy on your couch because there’s plenty to watch in November. Highlights from Netflix’s packed launch schedule include addictive TV shows, a Jessica Chastain movie, true crime docuseries and a holiday film for dog lovers.
Two hugely popular female-led shows, Black Dovesand The Hunting Wives, are back for second seasons, the latter dropping on Thanksgiving and providing the perfect binge-worthy series to chase your turkey with. A new supernatural teen thriller, The Body, lands and the limited series The Altruists looks set to be captivating.
If you’re craving something light (read: probably very cheesy), then you can’t go wrong with A Dog’s Perfect Christmas, which has a surprisingly impressive cast, featuring Milo Ventimiglia, Dennis Quaid and Mary Steenburgen.
Here’s what we recommend watching on Netflix in November.
‘A Dog’s Perfect Christmas’

If you love a cheesy-yet-heartwarming Netflix holiday movie, this one’s for you. Told from the perspective of Winstead, a sage basset hound, this film follows a dog who will do everything he can to bring his family back together before Christmas. If that doesn’t sell it to you, then the A-list cast might.
‘Black Doves’ (Season 2)

-
Runtime: 6 episodes, length of each TBD
Keira Knightley’s British spy thriller returns with Helen now navigating life as the U.K. prime minister’s wife. The trailer promises plenty of action, slick one-liners and new cast members: One Day‘s Ambika Mod and Scream‘s Neve Campbell join the starry lineup. Paddington‘s Ben Whishaw returns alongside Knightley.
‘Doozie’s Doghouse’ (Season 1)

-
Runtime: 7 episodes, 22 min. each
Skip if you don’t have young kids. If you do, this Gabby’s Dollhouse spinoff will soon be all your children want to watch. Doozie is Gabby’s dog-loving little sister, and just like the Gabbycats, she has her own collection of pup pals who live in her doghouse. There’s Puggie, CreamPup, Sequin the SeaPup, PixiePup, BoxPup, GamePup, DreamPup and Swaggy, each with their own room and skill set.
‘The Body’

-
Runtime: 8 episodes, approximately 60 min. each
Netflix’s new coming-of-age thriller, described by creator Quinn Shephard as a drama that blends “Catholic horror,” “suspense,” and “raunchy teen psychodrama,” follows a group of schoolgirls whose group initiation goes sideways. The ritual results in a mass frenzy “that engulfs an entire community,” says Netflix’s Tudum. Starring Kristina Bogic, Sara Boustany, Geena Meszaros, and The Traitorswinner Gabby Windey.
‘Heartland’

-
Runtime: 112 min.
Not to be confused with the long-running TV show of the same name that’s also available on Netflix, the new movie Heartland follows a former country music legend, Misty Jones (played by Jessica Chastain), who emerges from a two-decade-long seclusion to search for her missing 22-year-old niece. If that’s not enough to tempt you, the original soundtrack may do it.
‘The Altruists’

-
Runtime: 8 episodes, length of each TBD
Anthony Boyle and Julia Garner portray Sam Bankman-Fried and Caroline Ellison, two highly intellectual, star-crossed lovers in this limited series about the collapse of the global cryptocurrency exchange FTX. Per Tudum, the “ambitious young idealists try to remake the global financial system in the blink of an eye. Instead, they wind up accused of stealing billions of dollars and becoming Gen Z’s Bonnie and Clyde.”
‘The Trials of Karen Read’

-
Runtime: 3 episodes, length of each TBD
This three-part documentary covers one of the most closely followed U.S. crime cases in recent years: the trial of Karen Read, who was accused of hitting her Boston police officer boyfriend, John O’Keefe, in 2022 with her car and leaving him to die. Read was acquitted of second-degree murder in 2025 and only convicted of a drunk-driving charge. This docuseries includes interviews with Read, her lawyers and O’Keefe’s loved ones.
‘The Hunting Wives’ (Season 2)

-
Runtime: 8 episodes, length of each TBD
Dropping on Thanksgiving, this hugely popular Netflix show, which has already been renewed for a third season, returns. The show’s leads, Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman, are back, and John Stamos joins the cast. The season starts with Sophie and Margo estranged, but they’re soon forced back together, and their attraction remains central. Ideal bingeable viewing for the holiday.
