Pulsar Develops Dual-Sensor Gaming Mouse Technology With Customizable Virtual Sensor Position

Pulsar is exploring a new approach to gaming mouse technology with a dual-sensor platform that could give users greater control over sensor positioning. The company has already introduced several new mice in 2026, including the X5 ergonomic gaming mouse and X2F CrazyLight fingertip gaming mouse. However, its latest development focuses on the technology behind future gaming mice rather than a new product launch. In a mini-documentary published on its YouTube channel, Pulsar revealed that it is working on a system that combines data from two optical sensors to create a customizable virtual sensor position.

During the documentary, Pulsar explained that mechanical innovation in gaming mice has reached a point where further improvements are becoming increasingly difficult. Instead of focusing entirely on higher DPI and polling rates, the company wants to give players more control over how their mouse tracks movement. The proposed dual-sensor system combines readings from both sensors and calculates movement using a predefined offset. Users would be able to adjust this offset through software, allowing the effective sensor position to be changed without physically moving either sensor.

    Two years behind closed doors.

The concept is not entirely new, as former Aimlabs CTO Giovanni Laerte Frongia, known online as bardOZ, previously demonstrated a dual-sensor prototype with virtual sensor positioning. Other gaming mice, including the Pwnage Vanta, have also explored adjustable physical sensor placement. However, Pulsar’s engineering team considers physical repositioning a tedious approach, making a software-controlled solution an interesting alternative.

Pulsar also suggests that combining two sensors could help reduce sensor noise, as individual sensors can have slightly different characteristics. The company appears to be developing mini-games that will automatically determine an optimal virtual sensor position based on individual movement patterns. This approach has some similarities to Corsair’s PureVector technology, which uses Aimlabs to calibrate X and Y-axis DPI settings. Manual adjustments may also be available for users who prefer to configure their mouse themselves.

Pulsar has not confirmed when its dual-sensor gaming mouse technology will reach the market or which model will introduce it first. The company has also not revealed whether the system will be limited to a flagship mouse or become available across multiple models. Since Pulsar often shares internal hardware across mice within the same generation, future releases could potentially include several models featuring the technology. For now, the dual-sensor platform remains under development, with more details expected as the company moves closer to a commercial release.
