The Hollow Day 1 will see you solving a puzzle on Floor 1 of the movie theater maze, and completing the quest in DOORS, where you’ll need to survive the Candy Vault. Finishing both of these missions will earn you UGC rewards, namely: the Lord Umberhallow BLOXikin and the All-Seeking Antlers. In this guide, you’ll find a complete walkthrough for finding all five puzzle pieces on the first floor of the movie theatre maze, and strategies for escaping Abe in DOORS.
The Hollow Floor 1 Guide
The first event is a maze puzzlethrough the movie theater. When you arrive at The Hollow, enter the theater and go straight ahead to the elevator. Take this down to the first floor.
Here, you’ll need to traverse the movie theater maze to track down the five missing pieces to unlock the relic. These pieces are scattered throughout the floor, and there is an entityhaunting these halls that sends you back to the start if it catches you. Once you’ve found the pieces, you need to put them in the Relic Room.
How to Find the Relic Room
From the starting elevator point, you can reach the Relic Room by heading forward, going through two rooms, and taking a right. You’ll know you’re in the correct room if there’s no left turn available.
You can then head all the way down this hallway, and you’ll find a door with a protective field over it. This is where you want to bring all of the keys for the relic to count toward your progress. You’ll know you’re in the correct room by the glowing purple wall on the far left side.
Floor 1: How to Find All 5 Puzzle Pieces
Here’s a breakdown of where you can find those five pieces.
Note: some of these locations might be different for you, as the first floor does change.
| All First Floor Maze Puzzle Pieces for The Hollow | ||
|---|---|---|
| Maze Puzzle Piece | Description | Room Piece |
| From the starting elevator, follow the left path and head all the way down. You’ll find the first maze puzzle piece in the second room. | ||
| You can find the second Maze Puzzle piece in the room immediately before you enter the Relic Room. | ||
| The room to the left of the Relic Room, leading to a downward staircase, has another Maze Puzzle piece. | ||
| By heading to the right of the Relic Room, you’ll find a corner hallway that you have to take another right in before finding the fourth Maze Puzzle piece. It’s in front of another staircase. | ||
| From the Relic, head back into the main hallway and take a right pathway. Head into the next room, take a left, and then take two rights, looping you down a hallway. Follow the entire hallway down and you’ll reach a stairway at the end, with the final missing Maze Puzzle piece. |
After you have all five pieces, bring them back to the Relic room. They’ll each go into the puzzle, and then you have to rearrange it so the starting point connects to the end, and they both light up.
Completing this unlocks the door, and then you can return to this floor’s entrance and exit the elevator. When you leave, you’ll receive the Lord Umberhallow BLOXikin reward.
DOORS Candy Vault Guide
The second activity you can do during the first night of The Hollow is to complete the DOORS Candy Vault. This is a multi-person adventure where you and up to four other players will attempt to escape from the estate.
For the first phase of this game, your goal is to explore the mansion before working on the vault. You can use this time to open as many drawers throughout the mansion as you can to find candy or keys to unlock special items. You won’t know what these items or candies do, and eating or using them can cause harmful effects.
After you finish exploring the Mansion, it’s time to open the vault. You can do this with a quick-time event three times. When it’s opened, a quick cutscene happens with Abe, and you’ll have 20 minutes to reach the bottom floor of the Candy Vault and escape.
You’ll need to carefully navigate each floor, avoiding the entities that make up each area. There’s a map that you can find along the way to help you get through these areas and also identify the cauldrons. The goal is to eat as much candy as you can before you exit a floor. However, some of these candies cause negative effects. Still, eating candy is vital. If there are any candies you don’t know about or are wary of trying, throw them in the glowing cauldrons. These cauldrons count toward your candy total without you having to eat them.
Along the way, your host, Abe, will be following you. If you don’t keep your eye on him, he will sneak up behind you and get you. Someone in your group needs to keep an eye on him at all times to scare him away, all while avoiding the other entities.
When you reach the end of the vault, you’ll find a cauldron and have to remove all of the candy you have left. There are also several locked doors you can unlock if you have a Skeleton key. If you do, you’ll be able to obtain additional rewards before making your exit. When you exit, the estate explodes, and you’ll be able to walk away with all of the candy you earned.
Once you complete the Candy Vault and successfully make it to the end, return to The Hollow. Approach the door you used to teleport, and interact with the postal sign outside it to claim your badge.
