Natalie Portman is basking in new baby bliss.
The actress spoke out about welcoming her third child, her first with partner Tanguy Destable, in a profile with Harper’s Bazaar on Monday, Oct. 26. Portman, 45, said she is “full of wonder and joy at this magical little human.”
The Galleriststar noted that their new addition has only added to the love she feels for her older children, Aleph, 15, and Amalia, 9, both of whom she shares ex-husband Benjamin Millepied.
She continued, “It gives me a whole new attention to my big kids too, as I am reminded of how recently they were these little fresh creations and how quickly they’ve blossomed into incredible humans with their own amazing personalities and senses of humor and ideas.”
Portman gave birth to her third baby in Paris in late August, PEOPLE reported last month. She told Bazaar that living abroad has provided her with some sense of privacy as the interest in celebrities’ lives is not as heightened as it is in the U.S.
“When I was pregnant in New York and L.A., I was followed by 20 men every day,” Portman told the magazine. “There’s so much interest in pregnant women in particular. I’d never been bothered more. And here, they know, and I’ve been almost completely left alone.”
Portman did, however, face her fair share of paparazzi attention in Paris this go-around, as she shared she was expecting a baby at 44 with her newish boyfriend, French electronic musician and producer Destable, 46. The news of their romance came a year after her March 2024 divorce settlement with another French star — dancer and choreographer Millepied.
“Tanguy and I are very excited,” she told Bazaar of her baby news in April. “I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle.”

At the time, Portman added that — as the daughter of fertility doctor Dr. Avner Hershlag — she has a keen awareness of the challenges and heartbreak that can accompany a pregnancy journey.
“I grew up hearing about how hard it is to get pregnant,” she said. “I have so many people I love who’ve had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that as well. It’s such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it’s also not an easy thing. And so I know how lucky it is. I’m very aware, and I’m very grateful. I have deep appreciation and gratitude.”

Portman noted how thankful she felt to be able to welcome another child and had been focused on swimming and gyrotonics to “keep strong.”
“There is a gratitude that when you’re young, you don’t necessarily grasp,” Portman told Bazaar of being pregnant in her mid-40s. “And there’s a calm and knowing myself: who I want to spend time with, what kind of energy I want around me that makes the experience so beautiful every day. And knowing it’s probably the last time, I cherish every moment.”
