The Fortnite One Piece collab is official, with Epic Games revealing it on 24 October in a teaser that turns the Battle Bus into The Going Merry ship. One Piece is part of a pirate-themed mini season set to take over from the current season on 1 November, though Epic hasn’t said whether the Straw Hat Pirates arrive on day one or later in that run.

The reveal ends years of requests and rumours. Fortnite has run several anime crossovers, with Dragon Ball and My Hero Academia both returning for multiple waves, but One Piece had never appeared. It also isn’t quite the crossover leakers described, because the Straw Hats are sharing their mini season with other pirate-themed content rather than headlining one of their own.
What the One Piece Reveal Trailer Showed
Epic built up to the announcement through a staggered run of teasers. The early ones showed new original skins for Jonesy and Hope, then a trailer revealed a pirate version of Hatsune Miku, and One Piece was the last name confirmed.
The One Piece trailer first played inside the game on 24 October, triggered by an in-game glitch sequence rather than a full live event. Epic posted the same footage officially, so players who weren’t logged in at the time missed nothing exclusive. Its main image is the Battle Bus transforming into a pirate ship, and taken together with the Miku trailer, it points to a mini season built around pirates as a theme rather than around One Piece alone.
A pirate chest has also been sitting on the map for a while. Players can interact with it, but for now it does little beyond that prompt. On 25 October, the official Fortnite account on X followed the reveal with a post made up of three straw hat emojis, a nod to Luffy’s signature hat.
How the One Piece Collab Was Teased Before the Reveal
One Piece had appeared on a Fortnite player survey earlier in 2026. On 6 October, the official Fortnite account replied to a fan post featuring One Piece, Demon Slayer, and Chainsaw Man characters with an image of a ticket stub telling the fan to take a number.
Fortnite leaker SamLeakss had already claimed that a One Piece collab covering both Fortnite and Rocket League was set for November and was very likely the mini season, and files datamined from a Rocket League update reportedly pointed the same way. The November timing in those leaks held up. The scope didn’t, since One Piece now shares the mini season instead of owning it. Demon Slayer and Chainsaw Man remain unannounced.
Where the One Piece Anime Stands Right Now
Toei Animation’s One Piece TV anime is currently off air. Episode 1180 aired on Fuji TV on 27 September 2026 as the last new episode of the year, ending on a cliffhanger in the middle of the Elbaph arc. The series’ official accounts have confirmed episode 1181 for 2027, without a date.
The break is part of a format change producer Ryuta Koike announced in October 2025. From 2026, the anime is capped at 26 episodes a year and adapts roughly one manga chapter per episode. The Egghead arc ended with episode 1155 on 28 December 2025, the anime took a three-month break from January to March, and the Elbaph arc began on 5 April 2026 with episode 1156. That makes 25 new episodes this year, from 1156 to 1180. The arc streams on Crunchyroll and Netflix, and Crunchyroll began adding its English dub on 20 October.
The next big anime release is a separate project. The One Piece, a remake by WIT Studio directed by Masashi Koizuka, retells the East Blue saga from the start, and Netflix will release all seven episodes of its first season at once in February 2027.
| Release | Status | Date |
|---|---|---|
| Fortnite mini season with One Piece collab | Confirmed, exact One Piece arrival not announced | Mini season from 1 November 2026 |
| One Piece TV anime, episode 1181 | On break after episode 1180 | 2027, no date announced |
| The One Piece remake (WIT Studio, Netflix) | Seven-episode first season | February 2027 |
That timing suits Epic. The crossover lands while the TV anime has no new episodes on the schedule, and ahead of a Netflix remake built to bring newcomers into the series from the beginning. Epic hasn’t yet confirmed which One Piece characters are coming to Fortnite, and the mini season’s Battle Pass skins are still to be revealed.
