Another day, another Dungeon Crawler Carl adaptation. That doesn’t lessen the excitement for the fanbase, however, and every interpretation of the world of Dungeon Crawler Carl brings with it something new to the explosively popular book series. Now entering the world of comics, the first Dungeon Crawler Carlcomic book issue is set to release in January of 2027. It’ll be double-sized, with forty-eight pages of heart-pounding dungeon chaos. Dungeon Crawler Carl graphic novel alums Laurel Pursuit Studios, artist Kuzomari, and writer Tevagah will be joining forces with Vault Comics and a range of fresh faces to bring the comics to life. Reportedly, the comics are intended to be a serialization of the graphic novels.
It’ll be interesting to see how direct of an adaptation it is, and how it distinguishes itself from the webtoon. There are going to be a ton of artists on hand for the project, so the comics are sure to have a unique and varied personality. Among the cadre of new talents are Brett Bean, Frank Cho, Clayton Crain, Yoshi Yoshitani, Katie Cook, Riley Rossmo, Tyler Walpole, Doug Mahnke, and Trish Forstner. There’s also Ryan Ottley, best known for his work on Invincible, and Luciano Fleitas, who is behind the book covers.
5 Horror Books to Read If You Love DUNGEON CRAWLER CARL
With everything from a live-action series on Peacock to a table-top RPG, Dungeon Crawler Carl is slowly conquering every corner of the media world. I suspect the comic books will have a strong identity all on its own, even with Webtoons graphic novels. Matt Dinniman, in a statement to Variety, said, “Entering the comic space is nothing short of amazing. The fact that I get to work with some of the greatest creators and artists working today feels like a dream.” I think many Dungeon Crawler Carl fans feel similar. Everywhere we look now we see Carl and Donut. A true dream come true.
