This week, Matt Dinniman thrilled fans at Comic-Con 2026 with chitchat regarding the meteoric rise of his LitRPG series, Dungeon Crawler Carl. Its sentiment is echoed on the Amazon Charts, as the year’s hottest author is now completely dominating the shopping juggernaut’s most-read fiction books chart.

During the Dungeon Crawler Carl spotlight panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, series creator Matt Dinniman and TV producer Christopher Yostrevealed that the series’ audiobook narrator, Jeff Hays, will be voicing the character Princess Donut in the upcoming live-action adaption from Peacock. 

The literary world is full of unlikely heroes: a kid with glasses who lives in a cupboard under the stairs, a reluctant Hobbit, a plain girl from District 12, and now, a man with no pants and his talking cat.
