A new VisionQuest rumor suggests that Vision could receive an upgrade inspired by his comic-book counterpart. Since his introduction in the MCU, Paul Bettany‘s Vision was powered by the Mind Stone until Thanos removed it in Avengers: Infinity War. Now, a rumor suggests that he could gain the Solar Jewel during the Disney+ series.
Scooper James Mack claims that Vision will gain the Solar Jewel on his forehead. However, the claim remains unconfirmed and should be treated as a rumor. Marvel Studios has not confirmed the claim.
What is Vision’s Solar Jewel in Marvel comics?
In his classic Marvel comic incarnation, Vision’s forehead jewel is known as the Solar Jewel, rather than the Mind Stone. The jewel on his forehead channels solar energy through his body. It also allows Vision to fire solar-energy beams. In the MCU, the jewel was reimagined as the Mind Stone, one of the Infinity Stones that became central to the Avengers’ efforts to stop Thanos.
Although White Vision no longer has the Mind Stone, White Vision can still use many of his signature abilities. VisionQuest features several deep cuts from Marvel Comics. In its first two episodes, the show has already teased the arrival of the original Human Torch.
Vision has already undergone a few costume changes in the MCU. In WandaVision, Bettany wore a costume based on Vision’s original comic-book colors before later portraying White Vision.
One of the show’s trailers also hints at a new costume for Vision. If the rumor proves true, it remains to be seen how the Solar Jewel will affect Vision’s abilities. The show has also hinted at a possible Avengers: Doomsday connection.
VisionQuest is currently streaming on Disney+.
