From He-Man to Fugglers, you will find it at ToyCon

– Get ready for a flashback to your childhood!

Vegas ToyCon is taking over Tuscany Suites & Casino this weekend and Good Day Las Vegas’ JC Fernandez was live inside for a preview.

From vintage Star Wars figures and Hot Wheels to comic books and Pokémon cards, the event brings together more than 250 vendor tables and exhibitors for a weekend celebrating toys, collecting, and pop culture.

JC was joined by toy expert Steve Johnston, who shared what visitors can expect throughout the weekend, which includes celebrity appearances. Christopher McDonald, best known as Shooter McGavin in “Happy Gilmore,” is scheduled to meet fans and sign autographs Saturday and Sunday. Plus, Johnston will have a full display of rare Pokémon cards at his PokéKon booth.

Johnny Jimenez of Toy Shack offered a look at some childhood treasures that now carry grown-up price tags. Jimenez showcased an original boxed Yoda figure that he valued at more than $400, along with an original boxed He-Man figure from the 1980s valued at $850.

For Jimenez, part of the fun is helping visitors rediscover something they remember growing up with, whether it’s a favorite action figure or a toy they always wanted; there will be plenty of nostalgic moments at ToyCon.

Matt Gargiulo of Pop Shack at Boulevard Mall introduced us to some of today’s most sought-after toys, including Fugglers. The “Funny Ugly Monsters,” with their oddball expressions and toothy grins, have been flying off the shelves, and Gargiulo will have plenty at his booth this weekend. Gargiulo also showed off a variety of Godzilla items that are hot right now thanks to the upcoming new Godzilla movie.

Vegas ToyCon runs Oct. 16 -18 at Tuscany Suites & Casino. Friday’s VIP-only preview takes place from 5 to 9 p.m. General admission hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with VIP entry beginning at 9 a.m. both days.

Whether you’re searching for a rare collectible or hoping to find that childhood toy you wish you’d kept, you will probably find it at ToyCon.
