I already have a space problem with Absolute Batman. Now Mattel wants to make it worse.
With Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta’s series approaching its milestone 25th issue, Mattel is showing off its DC figures at New York Comic Con, including Absolute Batman, Catwoman, Bane, Flash, and Hawkman. There’s also Batman and Robin based on Jorge Jiménez’s artwork, alongside Wonder Woman, Superman, and Mongul.
Several social media users on site shared photos of figures from Mattel’s DC Legacy Collection. And there’s a lot to get excited about.
Absolute Batman

This is a really wonderful sculpt, and it joins a growing lineup of ways to put this massive version of Batman on your shelf.
Hot Toys already has an impeccable sixth-scale figure up for preorder at $385, complete with interchangeable expressions, removable bat ears, and his Bat-Axe. It looks amazing if you have the space—and the money.
Then there’s McFarlane’s Elite Edition, which brings us the masked, dual-chainsaw Batman from the Poison Ivy nightmare in issues #17 and #18, illustrated by Eric Canete. That two-issue arc was a body-horror spectacular, and it makes for a pretty fucking great action figure.

McFarlane’s Walmart-exclusive figure is scheduled for preorders today, October 9, with the retailer listing it at $49.97. Add tax and any shipping charges, and that’s a hefty purchase. Almost as hefty as Absolute Batman himself.
For anyone still deciding which version to bring home, Mattel now gives you another one to keep an eye on. We’re still waiting on individual pricing for its Absolute figures.
Absolute Catwoman

The Catwoman looks phenomenal. And this is exactly how they get you. You tell yourself you’re only buying Batman, then you see another sculpt that looks this good, and suddenly you’re thinking about how they would look together.
There goes another piece of shelf space.
Absolute Flash

Flash is also part of the reveal, taking the selection beyond Batman and the characters surrounding him. For anyone hoping to build out an entire Absolute Universe display, that’s pretty exciting.
For those of us trying to exercise any kind of restraint, it’s a problem.
Absolute Bane

And then there’s Bane. Because once Batman is on the shelf, you’re going to want the villains. With all the incredible designs coming out of these books, you can see how quickly this could become an entire collection.
Absolute Hawkman
Absolute Hawkman rounds out the Absolute reveals. So we’re already looking at five characters, and I’m trying to convince myself that I don’t need even one.
Batman, Robin, and the wider DC lineup
Outside the Absolute Universe, Mattel is showing off Batman and Robin based on Jorge Jiménez’s artwork, along with Wonder Woman, Superman, and Mongul.

And this is exactly what I’m talking about. You start with one Batman, and suddenly you’re trying to figure out where the fuck you’re going to put Mongul.
DC says Mattel’s new DC Collector line launches globally on January 1, 2027, although that isn’t a confirmed release date for every figure shown here. Individual release details are still to come.
You know how this goes. You buy the first figure. Then you buy a second so you can open one and keep one in the package. Then you’re buying every version that comes out, and once the floodgates open, it becomes hell.
Personally, I’m going to show as much restraint as possible. Between the comics and the prospect of a whole lineup of figures and villains, I’m running out of places to put the things I already own.
For those of you with the space and the money, though? These look fucking great. Take a look at the photos and footage from the floor.
