Vijay Sethupathi in Bathta
Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Baththa has expanded its theatrical footprint across India following what the makers describe as growing audience demand. After releasing in theatres on October 1, 2026, the film is now playing across more than 700 cinemas in the country.
The expansion brings the film to several key North Indian markets, including Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow and Noida, as the team looks to take Baththa beyond its initial markets and reach a wider audience.

Baththa expands theatrical run across North India
According to the makers, the decision to add more screens comes following the response the film has received since its release.
Baththa is currently running across nearly 700 cinemas nationwide, with its latest expansion giving audiences in additional North Indian cities an opportunity to watch the Vijay Sethupathi film on the big screen.
The team credited the film’s narrative, performances and directorial treatment for the response it has received during its theatrical run.
Baththa also brings Vijay Sethupathi and Atlee together again following their association on Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan.
While Vijay played the antagonist Kaalee Gaikwad in Jawan, Atlee directed the blockbuster. Their reunion around Baththa adds another point of interest to the project.
The film also has Sai Abhyankkar on board as music composer.
Producer Murad Khetani is associated with the film through Cine1 Studios, alongside a team of producers bringing together talent from different film industries.
The makers are positioning Baththa as a film intended to travel beyond language barriers, with the expanded theatrical rollout forming part of that strategy.
Who has produced Baththa?
Baththa is presented by Star Studio18 and Atlee.
The film is a Cine1 Studios and A For Apple Studios production and has been produced by Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Murad Khetani and Priya Atlee.
With the film now adding screens across major markets, its makers are looking to build on the momentum generated since its October 1 release.
