Real Housewives of Beverly Hillsstar Alexia Umansky shared her trauma for the first time on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
“I was taken advantage of,” Alexia revealed during her confessional on Thursday’s episode of the Fox reality show. “My family to this day does not know. When you bring other people into it, it just becomes more than a conversation.”
The Buying Beverly Hillsstar continued, “Maybe a conversation is what I needed but I just wasn’t ready. I was not ready for that.”
Special Forces sees a group of celebrities secluded in the Malaysian jungle as they compete against each other in military-style challenges. Both Alexia and dad Mauricio Umansky — whom she called her “best friend” — decided to compete in this year’s fifth season. After two rough tasks that had her confidence wavering, Alexia was pulled into tactical questioning by the Directing Staff (DS). When sitting down for the one-on-one, Alexia immediately got emotional.
“It’s just intense,” Alexia told the DS about her Special Forces experience, denying that she went on the show for Mauricio. “Honestly, it’s all for me. I want to feel proud of something. I want to tell people I have grit and strength and courage. After what happened to me, it’s been hard.”

The DS asked Alexia to “expand on” what she meant, which gave her some pause. Alexia then emotionally recounted something she experienced “seven years ago” that’s changed her life.
“I was on a trip with some friends and, you know, I was with people I trust. And I was put to bed because I had a little too much to drink,” she recalled. “When I woke up, I could tell something had happened. I didn’t even have the power or consciousness to say no.”
Alexia said she felt “completely objectified” after the fact. “I had a lot of pain and anger for that,” she continued. “At the one-year mark I decided that happiness is a choice and I was going to choose to put it away, but it still hurts.”
When she got back to the bunkhouse following the stint of tactical questioning, Alexia told her father — and the rest of the celebrity recruits — what she “went through,” calling it “the hardest thing” she’s ever dealt with.
Mauricio looked confused as Alexia told him that it’s “hard to talk about.” She held back tears while sitting next to her dad and explaining that she had been “taken advantage of by a friend” in the past. Alexia told Mauricio that it was something she “never” wanted him and mom Kyle Richards to know to “protect” them.
“I have definitely healed,” she told the recruits. “I’ve come a long way since then.”
Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test airs on Fox Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
