Some of the best stories come from the people we know best. For cartoonist Mikal Malik, that means his own family.
Mikal started creating The Takeoff Show when he was just 12 years old, turning himself and his family into cartoon characters and building a series around their everyday lives. Since then, he has created other comic series, including Tim and Gina and What’s the Difference?, and has also worked as an animator after studying at the School of Visual Arts in New York.
Today, The Takeoff Show continues to bring his family-inspired characters to life through funny and relatable comics.
