The time when we honor the best in television is fast approaching, and it starts with the announcement of the 2026 Emmy nominees
The Television Academy revealed its nominees for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards in a livestream on Wednesday and leading the pack is HBO Max’s medical drama The Pitt with 25 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor for Noah Wyle. Over on the comedy side, Hacks, which wrapped its fifth and final season earlier this year, received 24 nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress for Jean Smart. Other nominees include Apple TV’s comedy-horror Widow’s Bay with 19 nominations and sci-fi drama Pluribis with 18 nominations. In the limited series categories, Season 2 of Netflix’s Beefreceived 16 nods and HBO’s dark comedy DTF St. Louis got 13.
The Emmy Awards is set to air on NBC and Peacock on Monday, September 14, and will be hosted by longtime Law & Order: SVU star and executive producer Mariska Hargitay, marking the first time a woman will host the show in 15 years
