Angelica Lopez brought out the big guns in the Miss Grand International national costume competition.
The Philippines’ bet dressed up as a version of the mangkukulam, a figure in Philippine folklore.
The costume was composed of a large sculpture of a woman behind her to depict the mangkukulam. Angelica then portrayed a voodoo doll, complete with needles and button eyes.
“Ang mangkukulam. Born from the shadows of Philippine folklore, where mystery meets mysticism and ancestral wisdom lives on,” the beauty queen said on Instagram.
“This is more than a costume. It is a tribute to the stories that shaped our imagination, the traditions passed down through generations, and the powerful spirit woven into our Filipino heritage,” she added.
Angelica is aiming to secure a third consecutive Miss Grand International crown for the Philippines, following CJ Opiaza’s and Emma Tiglao’s back-to-back victories.
In her official introduction video, Angelica shared her childhood struggles and advocated for positive peace. She also shared her singing talent with a cover of “Breathless.”
She recently sizzled in a yellow bikini at the swimsuit competition.
The Miss Grand International 2026 coronation night is on October 10.
