Fans are flocking to Netflix to watch “The Mayor of Kingstown” after Paramount Plus licensed all four seasons of one of its most popular shows.
Starting Tuesday, Oct. 6, you can stream all four seasons of “Mayor of Kingstown”, starring Jeremy Renner. The fictional town featured in the series is located in Michigan, although the actual location where the series is filmed is in Toronto
Renner, who plays Hawkeye of the “Avengers” Marvel movie franchise, plays Mike McLusky in the TV series.
The show follows the McLuskys, a family that wields power and acts as brokers in the struggling ‘burg where “the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry.”
Kyle Chandler (“Friday Night Lights”) plays his older brother, Mitch. Dianne Wiest plays their embittered mother, whose husband was killed and who fears her sons will face the same fate.
The series addresses topics like systemic racism, corruption, economic inequality and incarceration in America.
It was created by Hugh Dillon (who’s also a co-star) and Taylor Sheridan, the creative force behind Kevin Costner’s hit Paramount network series “Yellowstone.”
