– This Saturday is Local Comic Shop Day and Good Day Las Vegas’ JC Fernandez got an early start on the celebration at Maximum Comics
The shop just celebrated its 20th anniversary, and owner Jay Bosworth showed us what fans can look forward to this weekend.
Bosworth brought out early copies of several Saturday releases, including special editions of Watchmen and V for Vendetta, plus an early release of Dungeon Crawler Carl graphic novel Volume 2, a new Star Trek comic, and a Johnny Cash comic reprint.
We also got a look at one of the biggest trends in comics: Unexpected crossovers. Bosworth showed off comics that are bringing the Muppets into the Marvel universe, G.I. Joe together with the Transformers, and Wonder Woman together with the Bionic Woman. And the one crossover that has everyone excited is Superman and Spider-Man.
Bosworth said he especially loves seeing families bring their kids into the shop and introduce a new generation to comic books.
