New Netflix Shows and Movies in September 2026

A handful of Netflix‘s biggest hits are coming back this back-to-school season. More than two years after it first premiered, Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen is returning for Season 2, which finds Theo James’ Eddie and Kaya Scodelario’s Susie determined to grow their criminal empire even if it means going to war with the Italian mafia. Another hugely successful Netflix franchise, Ryan Murphy’s Monster, also returns this September, with its latest installment focusing on the notorious ax murder suspect Lizzie Borden.

On the reality series side, Physical 100 launches its first iteration outside of Asia with Physical 100: Italy. Don’t miss this competition between the fittest of the fittest as they vie for the title of the ultimate physique. As for films to watch for, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan — best known for Never Have I Ever — stars in the dance comedyBest of the Best.

The Gentlemen Season 2 (Sept. 3)

The Gentlemen, Guy Ritchie’s series spin-off of his own 2019 film, just made headlines because, per The Hollywood Reporter, Meghan Markle is “in advanced discussions” to join the action comedy in a still-unannounced third season. But let’s talk about the second season first. Physical 100: Italy Season 1: Batch 1 (Sept. 11)

For two seasons, the Korean series Physical: 100 captivated viewers around the world with its quest to find the “perfect body.” Last year, the show expanded its pool of contestants beyond South Korea in Physical: Asia, which became the ultimate showdown between countries. The latest iteration of the show is Physical 100: Italy, in which 100 Italians from a range of athletic backgrounds face off in a series of challenges testing everything from endurance and speed to agility and strength. Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story (Sept. 17)

In its first three seasons, Monster — the biographical crime drama from Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan — told the stories of Jeffrey Dahmer, Lyle and Erik Menendez, and Ed Gein. The upcoming fourth installment features the anthology’s first female “monster,” Lizzie Borden, who was accused of the ax murders of her father and stepmother in 1892. Ella Beatty (Feud: Capote vs. the Swans) stars in the titular role, and is joined in the cast by Charlie Hunnam, Vicky Krieps, Rebecca Hall, Billie Lourd, Jessica Barden, and Sarah Paulson. Best of the Best (Sept. 18)

Childhood best friends Maya (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) and Anjali (Priyanka Kedia) face a new challenge when they join UCLA’s competitive Bollywood-fusion dance team in this new comedy. And their quest to win the U.S. championship is an assessment of more than just their choreography skills; if the trailer is any indication, this duo’s friendship will be put to the test, too. [Trailer]
