YouTube is adding a major new feature that will allow creators to showcase their best work and figure out what their audience likes most.
As part of its latest update on what’s coming to the platform for creators, YouTube announced that it will be bringing A/B testing to full videos. The feature has been available for titles and thumbnails since 2024, but now it expands to videos.
The feature will allow users to upload up to three versions of the same video to the platform. This allows creators to test different hooks, segments, visuals, and more. It’ll also work in both long- and short-form videos.
“YouTube Studio is evolving into an end-to-end creative partner to help across production, packaging, and channel strategy,” YouTube said. “Creators can now use Studio to get personalized guidance on early drafts, generate video thumbnails that match their channel’s style, and use video A/B testing to try out up to three different cuts for which holds audience attention best.”
It’s not just video A/B testing that YouTube is bringing for creators. It was also announced that the company is using AI to help with editing and publishing, such as thumbnail suggestions and the “tedious tasks” that come with uploading.
Finally, creators can opt in to AI-powered comment moderation. This feature, they say, sees AI learn “your unique moderation style and needs over time, shaping a comment section that reflects your community while freeing you up to focus on creating.”
It can then be turned off at any time.
