Selena Gomez hinted at her motherhood plans in a talk at the Fast Company Innovation Festival in NYC, two years after revealing that she could not carry children due to her health issues.
The beauty mogul opened up about her mental health non-profit, Rare Impact Funding, and shared how proud she was of the charitable endeavor.
“I think what makes me proud is knowing that we’re truly making a difference…I think there’s a bunch of stigma around everything,” she said, per the Daily Mail. “I have a 13-year-old sister who means the world to me, and eventually I’ll have my own children, and this is something that I don’t want to be taboo.”
“I don’t mind if people think it’s ‘out there,’ but I love what we have accomplished, and I think we’ll just continue to grow in that manner and hopefully continue to do great things,” Selena concluded.
Benny’s desire to start a family
The Only Murders in the Building star’s comments on welcoming children came just days after her husband, producer Benny Blanco, shared that he was “pressing” to start their family, less than a year after their wedding. “I’m a full-court press over here,” he said on the Today show, before explaining why he was ready to be a dad on the Open Book with Jenna podcast.
“Some of the negative things from my childhood are what helped me really get where I want to be and gave me the courage and bravery to do something different,” Benny shared. “I’m not afraid. I mean, I of course want to be the best parent, the best partner. I’m excited when that day finally comes.”
