GameSir has partnered with Epic Games’ Fortnite on a licensed collection of mobile controllers, set to launch on October 20 with two models: the GameSir G8 Plus Fortnite Edition and the GameSir X5 Lite for XBOX Fortnite Edition.
The tie-up marks a notable expansion of Fortnite’s licensed hardware footprint, pairing a peripheral maker known for drift-resistant stick technology with one of gaming’s most recognisable character rosters.
Two Models, Two Use Cases
The G8 Plus is positioned as the flagship option, built for players chasing console-level performance away from a console. It ships with Hall Effect sticks designed to resist stick drift over time, mappable rear buttons aimed at speeding up edits and building, and ergonomics intended to hold up across extended sessions. It carries an MSRP of $89.99.
The X5 Lite takes the opposite approach: lightweight, wired, and built for players who want a simple, responsive plug-and-play option rather than a premium centrepiece. It’s priced at $49.99. Both controllers lean into Fortnite’s character-driven aesthetic, with themed artwork and collectible-style packaging rather than a straightforward logo application.
The collaboration is being handled through IMG Licensing. GameSir’s VP of Partnerships said the goal was to build something that feels like a genuine Fortnite experience from the hardware up, rather than simply branding an existing product.
