    We’ve Found the Best Early Amazon Prime Day Deals on Gaming Laptops and Desktops

    Getting into PC gaming can be daunting because the up-front cost of a PC powerful enough to play the hottest games of 2026 is skyrocketing. It’s more important than ever to buy at a discount, and Amazon’s annual Prime Big Deal Days is one of the best times to do so. That sale starts on Oct. 6, but early birds are already flocking to discounts. I sifted through all of the gaming laptops and desktops on offer and pulled out three that are worth the cash, with more to come as the sale gets closer.

    5 Things to Know Before You Buy a Gaming Laptop or Desktop…

    …according to our resident gaming hardware expert Joe Osborne:

    • Let graphics lead the way.Always prioritize the graphics card or GPU. This is what will determine how high you can adjust detail settings in games without pushing the frame rate below playable levels.

    • Avoid integrated graphics.Unless you have specific space constraints or want the lightest possible traveling companion for PC gaming, avoid integrated graphics solutions. They don’t hold a candle to dedicated GPUs.

    • Spend between $1,000 and $3,000.For a ground-level gaming experience, you’ll need to spend at least a grand to achieve playable frame rates. Spending more than $3,000, you’ll quickly see diminishing returns for your money.

    • Make sure your monitor matches your specs.You’ll want a screen that can keep up with your system’s frame rate capacity. A GPU that has trouble pushing 4K resolutions doesn’t make sense paired with a monitor designed for that sharpness.

    • Sure, go for the RGB.If you have the money to spare, it doesn’t hurt to spruce up your rig with RGB lighting. This kind of extra often adds a fun, premium feel to the gaming experience.

    When you’re shopping for a gaming laptop, components are key. A good prebuilt will strike a balance between cutting-edge silicon and real-world affordability, and that’s just what the MSI Stealth A16 on offer here from Amazon does. A $200 discount makes it even more attractive, but it’s already a beauty, with a gorgeous OLED display boasting 2560×1600 resolution with a blistering 240-hertz refresh rate. The RTX 5070 Ti graphics card can push that screen to its limits on all of today’s top games, and the blazing-fast Ryzen 9 HX processor keeps up the pace. Plenty of RAM and onboard storage round out the package, and if you priced out the individual parts, you’d find they don’t come in much lower than the price of the whole laptop. We don’t have a full review of this one, but we did get hands-on at CES and were very impressed.

    It’s not the biggest discount we’ve ever seen, but taking 5% off of this already affordable entry-level gaming laptop gives you enough extra cash to pick up a title or two during the next Steam sale. We have a comprehensive review of the Asus TUF F16, giving it an “Excellent” rating with PCMag expert Marshall Honorof saying it “delivers the gaming goods” thanks to contemporary components, a better-than-expected screen, and lots of convenient ports. Our biggest criticism was the relatively skimpy boot drive, as 512GB doesn’t go that far in the modern gaming era, but aside from that, you’ll be able to play everything you want at solid settings. The RTX 5050 graphics card is a lower-end Blackwell-series model, but it pairs perfectly with the FHD display, which delivers up to 165 frames per second. Despite having a plastic chassis, it still cleared MIL-STD-810H durability testing, and battery life clocked in at 10 hours and 22 minutes in our testing.

    Purely from a component standpoint, this is a fantastic deal on a great-looking midrange desktop that’s almost in the budget price range despite packing a solid Blackwell-series GPU and 32GB of DDR5 RAM. We were extremely impressed by the RTX 5060 Ti inour review, giving the card an Editors’ Choice award for massive speed upgrades over Nvidia’s last generation of GPUs. The Ryzen 5 5500 is a solid CPU choice, delivering good performance in both gaming and productivity applications. The sizable case has triple-tempered glass front and side panels, quiet and effective cooling, and it’s easy to open for servicing and upgrades. A $100 discount isn’t huge, but this is a steal even at retail.
