Don’t expect to see the next generation of Nvidia GPUs anytime soon. According to multiple known leakers, the Nvidia RTX 60 series graphics cards have been delayed until at least 2028.
This comes after previous delay rumors had the graphics cards launching in the second half of 2027.
Stick With Your Old Hardware
In his report on Twitter, known hardware leaker Kopite7kimi was straightforward about the status of Nvidia’s next-gen cards.
“I hope Jensen [Huang] can see everyone’s passion and launch new products for gaming as soon as possible,” Kopite7kimi wrote. “Unfortunately, GR20x is a product from 2028. That means they have postponed again.”
Kopite7kimi is the second known leaker to claim that Nvidia is pushing the release of the RTX 60 series to 2028. On the Anandtech forums, Kepler_L2 said that Nvidia and most of AMD’s new products will wait until at least 2028 to launch.
The only likely release for 2027 is one RDNA 5-Based AT2 card from AMD. But even that is up in the air.
It’s worth noting that neither Nvidia nor AMD, for that matter, have publicly commented on their future plans for consumer graphics cards. However, component prices continue to rise, with RTX 5090 cards selling for as much as $5,000. This comes as RAM prices continue to see 300%-500% increases compared to two years ago, and rumors of motherboard costs being the next component to see a large jump in cost.
